Can't Log In

Question

Hello,

I've been trying to log in to SL for the last couple of days now after installing for the first time and when I do I get the same error message "despite our best efforts" etc etc

I've tried uninstalling completely and re-downloading and have also tried installing the 2.8.0 viewer however no such luck.

I'm on a macbook pro and I definately have a working internet connection.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So you haven't succeeded in log on sl yet. According to wiki, followings are suggested. But you have already tried #4, so you could try the other suggestions...

 

Despite our best efforts, something has gone wrong...

The error message may also tell you to contact support. Before you so so, try these steps:

  1. Change your login location.
  2. During periods of high login activity (evenings and immediately after a new release of Second Life), this message may indicate that your login attempt has timed out. In this case, wait a few minutes, then try to log in again.
  3. Inspect your firewall settings (if you have a firewall) or consult with your network administrator
  4. Completely uninstall Second Life (including temporary cache files) and reinstall.

or also you can try another viewer to see if that helps.
