Newbie looking for friends and building mentors!!

Hey, I'm new to SL and I've been having a blast! I enjoy not running into walls, waiting for buildings to rezz, sitting on objects and not being able to find myself, dancing off beat, and forgetting the alphas for my shoes resulting in awesome dual toe technology! Mostly I like to shop, dance, and explore. Anyone care to wander with me?

I joined SL to build. I've joined a few groups in that regard and have attended a few classes but I'm thinking a hands on approach might help as well. Any builders looking for an apprentice?  Also if anyone could fill me in on some of the unspoken habits of the world, for instance what is griefing? and how does roleplaying work? If I say /me does it change that to my display name?
