  1. I'm making my second avatar and for this one I decided to implement the bones for the appearance sliders, so that people can customize it more. I'm not using Avastar, since I don't have the funds for it atm and I want to understand what happens "under the hood". Especially with how odd SL can be sometimes haha and I'm making everything in Blender 2.8. I've managed to get the collision bones to work properly, but I've been having a very weird issue with the appearance sliders since the beginning.   4. I have made my clothing now what ? I'm not sure where to start, with rigging the clothing to the body so that it moves flawlessly with the avatar ! Like clothes you buy from marketplace. My question is where do I start and how do I rig the clothing so that it moves with the avatar without any pulling and tugging of the mesh ?
  5. hi everyone! i was wondering if anyone had any insight as to why i am unable to rig to the belleza hands properly. i work with many bodies, and i have no problems rigging clothing, shoes, etc to different parts of the body but when it comes to hands, it's always off. this is an example of what happens: it's like...it is rigged but rigged under the hands? i've been avoiding gloves and hand accessories for so long because of it lol. thank you for anyone who has any answers!

  7. I seem to be having an issue rigging my heels to the Freya foot. I opened avastar in blender, imported the .dae heels, adjusted them to the mid freya foot, selected the shoe then the bones like I have done with every other body kit ( Note: this is my first time withing with freya ) . When I goto bind the armature, it does not give me the option on what body part to bind the shoe to. And if I bind without selecting any body part, under appearance in avastar tab, body fat gets highlighted in red with 0% and wont let me export the rigged shoe. Help?

  12. I just started learning mesh and am mostly using tutorials.   14. I'm struggling looking for easy to follow and understand tutorials, with (and this is key) Someone using updated software for building with and exporting to SL. I'm looking to just befriend someone who does it currently, and gain access to a discord where we can swap information from time to time when we hit walls.   16. im using blender 2.7. i rig two year ago and took a brake and now back. An old avatar i had made clothing for and rigged in the past and when i upload it doesn't attach as a rig anymore an just an object. i try bento skeleton. basic skeleton. everything move fine in blender. i try avastar and even old rigging method before avastar days. i even try a basic rig box. when i upload and click weight box on sl to upload. it shows that it weight to the body and moving and bending but when i upload and attach it act like and object and can resize move etc on the avatar. i try beta server. try a diffe
  17. SO! To start off, I am making a bodysuit for the Signature Alice mesh body. Since it’s a new body I like quite a bit, want clothing, sell clothing, etc. I got the Dev Kit, but I replaced the armature/pose with the workbench on one of Avastar’s blog post. (NOT the plugin you buy). The devkit armature didn’t work, so thats why. I tried to bento skeleton but I couldn’t seem to get the grid to recognize the skin weights. So I’m trying with the default, non-bento armature. I used the weight transfer option when attaching the bodysuit to the pose/armature as well. Which makes
  18. I have been working with Blender for mesh clothes creation for a year now, and have found my way around most problems I encountered so far. Most dev-kits have their own little quirks and once you know about them you can solve the problems they cause. One problem I have not gotten out of the way is rigging for Bento hands. Especially Maitreya and even more so: Belleza. Belleza's dev-kit bento hands can be imported and avastar can convert the rig, but does not provide the bones for the hands. Rigging to a standard avastar 2 skeleton really gives horrible results (deformed hands and fingers)
  19. Hello! I am trying to rig a non T-pose character. Its in an "I"-pose actually, arms are down, legs together. So I rig it, everything is fine, but how do I get it back to T-pose before I upload it? Alt+R dont work. And another thing. It seems bones are somehow locked, they dont move 360 degrees, its fine but still curious how to disable it. Any help please?

I am trying to create an avatar using machinimatrix workbench and I had to bend the skeleton, I decided to try to set the weight manually and applied the armature with empty weight groups. Weight painted and checked all in pose mode, part of the bones i don't use and deleted them from weight groups window. i applied rotation, location and scale to the skeleton and to the model, created a static pose. but the avatar is distorted when uploading and pose dont work proper. please tell me what was wrong?

  22. Hello! I'm trying to rig a bento hand for avatar, but every time unsuccessfully.   23. Hi all. Been messing around on Blender and finally got the jist of texture working, adjustments, joining meshes and making sure to remove doubles. I have been following the methods on rigging with automatic weight sharing on the basic SL rigged skeleton which i downloaded from their template page and did some basic rigging work.   25. Hello, I'm looking for a rigger as I'm trying to create clothes for the first time. I'm entirely useless when it comes to rigging, I've tried dozens of times and only achieved loss of keyboard buttons.
