This week we’re taking a broader look at the possibilities within Second Life for expression, metamorphosis, and a unique type of freedom from our current circumstances in the physical world. There is no denying that we are social animals, and while we are in this period of indefinite isolation, connecting with others in a dynamic environment can be very rewarding. At this point almost all of us have had to pass up a vacation or event we were looking forward to, and not everyone has access to partially reopened spaces. In Second Life we can safely explore nature, hear the push and pull of the tide, and feel present in a place we’ve always wanted to go to. The phrase quarantine vacation might seem like an oxymoron, but it is definitely possible in SL. A luxury getaway to the Fashion Week of your choosing is only a few clicks away, and whether you’re in the audience or on the runway is up to you. Plus, this is the only place that we condone riding a motorcycle without a helmet. What do you miss the most? Recreational sports, the endless row of bookshelves in your library, chatting with others at a gallery reception? All of these things and more are waiting for you in-world. Of course there are certain things about the physical world that cannot be replaced, but there are also aspects of the virtual world that can augment your experience in ways that are inimitable. It is liberating to give a 3D visual form to parts of ourselves that have traditionally been abstract and interior. Whether it is something you have daydreamed about for years or an aspect of yourself that has always existed beneath the surface, there is no better place to set your thoughts free. RE-OPENING OF - ACOUSTIC TOSCANO CAFE The Acoustic Toscano Village Cafe was born approx 4 years ago, opened to create a meeting point for the many residents living within the Acoustic group of sims that have been around since 2007. It was a great success, gaining regular visitors from all over the world, who enjoyed the chilled atmosphere and our no judgment ethos. The dance area was regularly used facing the cafe with twinkling lights and a beautiful intimate setting below the growing grape vines. We have a....no unusual avatar ‘ban’ aside nudity due to the area being moderate. Sadly we had to close two years ago, but after missing the cafe and community feel it developed, we decided recently to re-open with a fresh look, built by joint owner of Acoustic Gardens, Lynne Lundquist. She has made a lovely space for everyone to enjoy. Both residents and visitors are always welcome. Please join our group in world and FB for lots of chat and regular updates on what’s planned. I had been hoping to attend one of Ms Gypsy's Campfire Sundays ever since she showed me around her beautiful place. My time and schedule just never allowed it, UNTIL recently. I was logged in and happen to see the notice about a one year celebration, so I popped on over. It's going to be difficult for me to come up with just the right words to describe the atmosphere (and being without words is generally not a problem for me), so bear with me as I try. We recently build a new sim "Fever Islands - Adult Resort" This sim was build by people who want to create an awesome place that can be used for dancing, hanging out, chatting, gaming, sailing, racing, relaxing, and so much more! We wanted to create a place for you that has it all! We offer a nice romantic beach, a classy shopping area, a harbour with boats and Jetski's, table games, swimming pool, and not to forget our amazing looking club: Club Fever! We are currently looking for DJ's, Dancers and Hosts. We are looking for experienced and non-experienced staff. WHAT DO WE OFFER? - We offer our DJ's, Dancers and Hosts a great place to work. - We have friendly staff to help and guide you if you need this - We offer training for those with litlle to no experience - DJ's and Hosts receive 100% of their tips - Dancers receive 75% - DJ's work on schedule base - Dancers work as FREELANCE (so you can come dance whenever you like!) - We offer help in creating promotional material to get your name out there and to assist you accumulating clientelle and/or audience. You will be assisted by a professional and well experienced photographer and graphics designer. WHAT DO WE ASK FROM YOU? - Avatar needs to be at least 90 days old - You must be able to speak and understand the English language. - Patience, as this is a new sim and traffic needs to be build. - Loyalty! No need to explain this. - Commitment and Devotion. ( if you tell us you will come work, you will!) (not showing up gives not only our sim a bad reputation, but also yourself) - We ask from you, that you are open and honest to us, as we are to you. If theres any problems, you can always come talk to us and we will be happy to assist you in any way we can. We are a NEW sim and this means that we need to build a reputation, as well as traffic. The more traffic, the better! So patience is a virtue here. We do not expect things to be perfect as they will not be, but we will do our best. So we hope you will hang out with us even when its not crowded and busy.
