  1. Do you have a project that requires custom 3D meshes props or LSL scripts? Let me help you help you create the props or scripts that you need to make your project a reality. Whether you know exactly what you want or need help figuring it out we can work together and I can guide you through the process with 8 years of experience creating mesh props and 2 years of experience with LSL scripting. If you do not know exactly what you want I can help you with my design consulting services. Together we will discuss your project in detail, research as needed, and come up with a solution to, or design for, your project. After you are happy with the results all the collected information will be packaged in a neat and organized system and given to you to continue using with me or to take to another creator that can help you finish the project. If you do know what you need then I can help with that too. There is still a process where we discuss and research as needed similar to a consultation but much shorter. It is so that I can understand what it is that you want created. Once we are on the same page, I will use my years of experience to create high quality meshes and LSL scripts that are optimized for Second Life. You will be updated regularly along the way so you know what is going on and so you have any opportunity to give your input on the results. After anything is considered completed then we will review it and changes will be made accordingly. My clients have always been happy with what we have made together and I hope that I can help you on your project and make you just as happy. If you have a project in mind send me a message and we can make it a reality. Email me at brownboxstudio@gmail.com, an inworld message to BrownBoxStudio, or reply to this thread and I will get back to you shortly. Visit the links below to see my work in and out of Second Life. I have programmed games like skeeball, other carnival games, and even an advanced texture change system described and shown in the Various Props for Second Life project above.
  2. Hello. I know this has been covered many times (as I've tried to research it myself), but I haven't been able to find anything addressing my specific issue. Most have dealt with sitting or TPing and the like. I should start by saying I know next to nothing about scripting and only just starting to "build" or adjust some of my current furniture to my liking and for my own personal use/preference/enjoyment (not for sale) and using others' items, scripts, animations, etc. So...I'm creating a simple drink giver which automatically gives out and attaches a number of different drinks. I'm using AVSitter's prop/object/menu scripts (in the giver), 2 animations (drink and hold - the hold overrides the AO and works while moving, which is nice), and a simple script to animate (both in the drink props). Now, I have to say, everything works well....the giver offers the menu of drinks (plus a "clear" button), asks permission to attach. The prop attaches and the animations work perfectly until manually detached or "cleared" through the menu. All the props work when manually attaching them without the giver as well. The issue is, every time the Permission Request to attach appears, I also get the apparently common error: "[17:36] Script trying to stop animations but PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION permission not set". I ignore it, grant permission and everything works fine (once the annoying little error triangle disappears). I could go on ignoring it, I suppose, but it is annoying...and besides I wouldn't be learning anything that way either. I'd post the script, but I don't know which it's coming from (my best guess it the "prop" script in the giver, since I get it at the attachment request). I'd really love some help with this. Thanks!!
  3. Q: Roleplayers, what would you like to see, either in general, or just more of, on the marketplace? The question expanded: As someone with a basic understanding of how business works, I know that most successful businesses take part in market research. That is to say, they ask people questions about what they want, what they like, favorite colors, etc. Then, they develop a target market; If I'm a company that makes sports equipment, my target market would be people who play sports or places that need sports equipment, like school, and so on. Knowing these things is what helps give direction to a business, as well as helps them prevent waste-- be it wasting time, money, or supplies. If you know what you need to make, chances are, you're not going to spend a lot of time or effort trying to figure out what you should make. As a long time roleplayer, I understand the importance of props, as well as the importance of atmosphere (garb, structures, etc.) What I don't have a grasp of is what people beyond myself really wish they could find more of. I understand Secondlife could use a lot more mens oriented items in general, and that fantasy/medieval avatars and avatar accessories are somewhat lacking. So, my question(s) for you.... What would you like to see more of? Is there something you really wish you could find, but can't seem to? P.S. Wish I knew how to create a poll.
  4. Do you have a project that could use a custom mesh props or scripts? Are you unsure of how to make this happen and are ready to hire someone else to help you? I can be that person for you. Whether you know exactly what you want to have made or need to get your ideas onto paper we can work together to make your project a reality. I have 6+ years experience creating mesh objects and 2+ years programming in and out of Second Life. I use that experience to create high quality, high efficiency mesh props and scripts that will take your project to completion. Let me help you with your next project. Let's chat! Send me a message in world to "BrownBoxStudio", email me at brownboxstudio@gmail.com, or even leave a message on this post, and start working together towards reaching your creative goals. Here are some mesh objects I have made for second life. They average about 3-5 prims each. If you would like to see them inworld, send me a message and we can meet up. I also have scripted games, and other objects, that I can be shown on request if custom scripting is what you are wanting.
  5. Hello I have been using QAvimator for a little over a year to make random animations I'm not able to find elsewhere, or that are needed to fit a specific item. Early on, all of the four prop options showed up when clicked, (box, sphere, cone and torus.) After a while, the box prop stopped showing up at all. I have removed the program and reinstalled a few times, but I get the same result every time. I've attached a screenshot of what I see when I click the box icon. It appears to be there, but is transparent - doesn't matter if it's attached to the av or not. I never use the torus, but have discovered it has the same issue. The sphere and cone are both fine, but sometimes I can't make those work for what I need. Has anyone else ever had this problem, and know how to fix it, or at least what's causing it? Grabbing a new version of the program is not doing the trick. I've also noticed there is the option to load props. I'm assuming this is previously saved props created in the program itself, (for maintaining exact position, memory, etc.) The file extension for saving props is ".prp" which is not a file type I could personally create anywhere else to upload into QAvimator. Maybe someone out there has some saved, basic QAvimator cubes I could borrow? Also, if it matters, I'm on a Mac, and I know the updated version of QAvimator is currently for PCs only.
