  1. As I was driving my speedboat with the mini map screen on, I see "green" arrow heads on the map. I notice these object are under water when the boat passes over them, and there's nothing on top of the water seen, when the boat is driving. Any hint as to what these objects are, on the mini map? I almost thought I was driving at something "invisible" on the water sim.
  2. Slavija

After restarting the DFS facility, the chicken coop disappeared from the face of the earth. And it is not copied, please restore the object.Thank you in advance.
  3. So I've looked into this, and most of the answers I see involve locking two objects together so they can be manipulated in the editor as one by pressing Ctrl+L. But I am curious if there is a way to create one object that can be selected in the inventory, made out of two pre-existing objects? Some context... I have a hair on my avi in a ponytail style, and I have a hat with space in the back to fit the ponytail through. With both objects, they clipped through each other and it looks rather ugly. So to work around this, I made a copy of the hair and edited the individual linked pieces to fit beneath the hat. Then I editted the individual pieces of the pony tail to be lower on the head to fit through the space. The end result looks fine and is exactly what I wanted to achieve. But now it's a hassle, as I have to swap out my avi's hair with an alternate, and then wear the hat as well. Basically it just becomes a process just to wear the hat without it looking sloppy. So I am curious if there is a way to merge the hair and the hat into one single object that I can equip. To clarify, both the hair and the hat were purchased off of the SL market, they are not created by me. The permissions allow for edits and copies.
  4. I am sure many have asked this question... so here it goes. I just got a MeadowBrook home with a little pool in the front. I started decorating it, but I unlinked a two piece object before moving the object out of the water, so now I have one of the objects under water and can't get to it bc I either can't or don't know how to move the water that is part of the house. And I know I can't edit the house bc it's not allowed. So please help, my OCD is about to explode. It's that white square under the water that I can't get to.
  5. I want to export my creations that are 100% mine to my computer, how do I do that? I'm not really understanding why this is a difficult thing since all the creations that I'm referring to are designed, created, and owned by me - shouldn't I have full access and digital rights to download it to my computer whenever I want and without feeling like I'm trying to steal my own creations?
  6. I was resetting scripts on a no copy item and then the item disappeared vanquished, I looked to see if it went back to lost and found, looked at 0,0,0 place on the sim but I cant find it any where. Anyone know what might have happened? Please do not answer this question with comments not pertaining to the subject or comments just suggestions only or if you have had this issue thank you.
  7. I never know how to start these posts but maybe I should give you a little background - I am Rhae and this is my first year on Second Life. About three or four of the nine months I've been on SL, I've been away, but I've always been curious about building mesh. Granted, part of the reason I started wanting to do it was because I couldn't always find what I want, but I've finally decided to take the initiative and start by, well, getting Blender. I've looked up tutorials, scrolled through pages, but all of it is too advanced for someone who doesn't even know how to adjust the camera view yet. I've spent few minutes, learned few of the basics, and plan to keep at it until I am comfortable with the controls. But, as someone with anxiety, the fact that I don't even know what the next step is - is a little unsettling to me. If I asked you for a guide, for a 101, for a list of what you should get or what you should learn first - what would you include in it? I feel at loss, because my brain is shouting words I've read over and over again like 'rigging' and 'texturing' and 'baking' and 'developers kit' when I don't even know what I would need to start. I don't want to make clothes, for example, that are for standard sizes (alone). It feels a lot like attempting to learn a language without knowing the alphabets. And I don't know, I want a place to start. A list of essential programs and add-ons and items as well as a list of, well, what you should learn. Obviously, once I cover the basic and learn to be comfortable with it, the rest would come from tutorials and blogs and forum posts but... I'd benefit from having a place to start and others might, too! Thank you and I am sorry for rambling.
  8. Hello. I know this has been covered many times (as I've tried to research it myself), but I haven't been able to find anything addressing my specific issue. Most have dealt with sitting or TPing and the like. I should start by saying I know next to nothing about scripting and only just starting to "build" or adjust some of my current furniture to my liking and for my own personal use/preference/enjoyment (not for sale) and using others' items, scripts, animations, etc. So...I'm creating a simple drink giver which automatically gives out and attaches a number of different drinks. I'm using AVSitter's prop/object/menu scripts (in the giver), 2 animations (drink and hold - the hold overrides the AO and works while moving, which is nice), and a simple script to animate (both in the drink props). Now, I have to say, everything works well....the giver offers the menu of drinks (plus a "clear" button), asks permission to attach. The prop attaches and the animations work perfectly until manually detached or "cleared" through the menu. All the props work when manually attaching them without the giver as well. The issue is, every time the Permission Request to attach appears, I also get the apparently common error: "[17:36] Script trying to stop animations but PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION permission not set". I ignore it, grant permission and everything works fine (once the annoying little error triangle disappears). I could go on ignoring it, I suppose, but it is annoying...and besides I wouldn't be learning anything that way either. I'd post the script, but I don't know which it's coming from (my best guess it the "prop" script in the giver, since I get it at the attachment request). I'd really love some help with this. Thanks!!
  9. I'm building a very large and complex shaped house, which at the moment is made up of 7 separate objects and will likely increase further and it has many curved surfaces that have to be accurately aligned together when assembled inworld. So far on the beta grid I've just been eyeballing the alignment to check build quality and physics models etc, but as I progress further away from what I'll call my anchor object (first object imported) that I started aligning subsequent objects to any discrepancy in the initial alignments is telescoping out to larger misalignments further down the assembly process. This hadn't bothered me so far as I had read in the past of something called cube/box alignment where each mesh object is imported as a linkset with a common single cube that you then make the root prim and set to say X:10 Y:10 Z:10 and as you import each object you set that root prim to the same coordinates then delete it and everything should align perfectly, which it does. However the problem that I've run into is that it is breaking all my physics models. First of all for ease I used just one common cube for all the mesh objects set to 0,0,0, , but inworld as I imported pieces that were further away from that location the cube was outside of the bounding box or rather the bounding box that was dictated in the original object and it broke its physics model. I slapped myself for not realising that would happen beforehand and then gave each object its own cube but nestled within each object's bounding box and each cube was a set distance from the previous one so that I could easily replicate the offset inworld. Once again though, for whatever reason the physics models were broken and I ended up with convex hulls even though the prim option was there and enabled. My only workaround at the moment is to use the method above to get everything inworld and correctly aligned and then import the objects again without a cube and copy paste them to already aligned objects' coordinates, which I guess will work, but is tedious and obviously more expensive once I import to the main grid. So my questions are, does the cube alignment system really work, if so what am I doing wrong and is there an easier or better way? I did search the forum(s), but I couldn't find a similar topic or the original thread/post I recalled about this process so thanks in advance for anybody who links/points me to some.
  10. So I have some full permissions plants. I want to decorate the parcels I'm selling and include the decor. What is best way of doing it? I can not change owner as long as it is rezzed? Send the buyer a folder with the items? Some of the items have following description. NO TERMS - can be resold or given away with any permissions you choose. Others have that I must change them or not sell it With full permissions, something I will do.
  11. I am wondering. what happens to objects that are sent to a blocked individual?
  12. Hello, I've made some things that have modify and copy permissions set. But when I give them to someone else, when they rez it and take it back, the object they take back all of a sudden has no copy and no modify set on it. That makes it difficult for them to modify it. How do I set it so that when they rez it once and retake it, it remains no modify so they can retain whatever changes they made?
  13. I am link 11 table sets. Each set has the table with two table clothes, 4 plates with a napkin, a vase with a flower and a ribbon, 4 chairs covered with a cloth. The total objects for one set when linking comes to 10 but when I try to link all 11 tables I get this error: "Unable to link these 584 objects. You can only link a maximum of 256 objects." Can anyone explain to me why I can not link them and what I need to change in how I am linking. I have searched everything I can find and am at a total loss now. TIA, Krickett
  14. Dear all, Perhaps you have an answer to my question. I have two objects. One is a clothing and the other one is a hud. The hud is for changing the texture of the clothing. So clothing would be worn "often" and the hud "sometimes". To make the texture-exchange as easy as possible, I have two scripting options for both objects to see eachother. One is that the clothing has a listener that is always open and reacts with llRegionSayTo. The other options is that the clothing has a timer, for let's say every 10 or 15 seconds and the hud has a listener. After the two object "see" eachother the exchange of information can start. Will there be a best option of those two options? Thanks in advance, Trivis
  15. I was curious if there was a way to change the object limit in a parcel in a private region when you separate your land into smaller parcels. Specifically, if you sub-divided a homestead in 1/4s, is there a way to set the parcel limit to 1050 on three of the parcels? I know you may increase the objects per parcel through the bonus feature in the Region Details window. Thank you!
  16. I seem to recall reading that objects have two IDs: asset ID and an instance ID. It was my impression that the asset ID is fixed and never changes while the instance ID exists only while the object is rezzed (place in world, worn on character as gear or attached as a HUD). Is this accurate? Is the asset ID permanent? Can the asset's ID be used to identify the object when it is rezzed or is only the instance ID valid at that time?
  17. Hello I am new to LSL so I'm not sure where I am going wrong. I'm trying to create a colour change hud for an outfit I've recently created. I have written two scripts, one that is in the object I want to change and another which is the button to change the texture. In the hud you can change the colour of 3 separate components of the outfit, top, skirt and boots. Here is an example of the script inside the object: integer ch=46879421563; default { state_entry() { llListen(ch,"",NULL_KEY,""); } listen(integer channel, string name, key id, string msg) { if (llGetOwner() == llGetOwnerKey(id)) { llSetTexture(llGetSubString(msg,0,-1),ALL_SIDES); } } } and the one in the button integer ch=46879421563; default { touch_start(integer total_number) { llSay(ch,"6de65ebe-5fef-7f52-dd05-da49df98833c"); } } Each separate item has their own unique number in the integer "ch" but for some reason, some of the buttons end up changing more than just the object with the same channel. any help would be appreciated
  18. Hey, did something change in the past few days? I have a butterfly rezzer, that I bought years ago, and it's never given me any trouble. In fact, it's been sitting in the exact same place for over a year now, doing it's job, untouched. A few days ago I got a slew of messages telling me that my butterflies were being returned from all over the place, same sim, nearby sims, just all over. When I reset it, and tried to rez more butterflies, the same thing happens, they rez all over the place, when they are supposed to be within 4 meters. I tried to contact the creator, but he's long since gone ... any ideas about what might be going on here?
  19. I have a few objects that want to open two menus at the same time, but I can only get access to the last one given. How do I get access to all of them?
