  1. Da Bluez Preacher aka Ray Confer is a live musician who has been playing in SL since 2006. He blends a setlist of blues, funk, gospel and rock, using a technique called live looping where he creates the song on the fly. His shows are family-friendly and very high energy, always interacting with the audience. His motto is no black, no white, just bluez! Read the full interview here
  2. Dexter Lee Moore is a singer, song writer, performer, engineer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist, conceptualist, and singed to Fervor Records USA in 2017. He has been dubbed "The Funckalicious One" by his endearing fans. "Amazing Virtuosity" - London Times Read the entire article here
  3. Kris Angelis is a beautifully talented singer/song writer who grew up on a farm in Florida. Awarded Best Female Album of 2013 by the LA Music Critics Awards for "The Left Atrium" Kris is a success in her own right having the video for her song "Not Your Fault" exclusively premiered on RyanSeacrest.com. Her musical presence is widespread. All you have to do is Google her name and you are showered with a plethora of photos and information about shows and releases. In 2019 Kris completed a tour of all 50 states. She has won several competitions that have put her on the billboards in Chicago
  4. Hi all, normally at Higher Ground Music Magazine, I focus on interviews with musicians/venue owners etc. I plan on speaking to some venue owners and musicians about this as well, but I wanted to find out in general how everyone is feeling and what you believe the outlook is given the coronavirus crisis. Some countries are already on total lockdown, and it's looking more and more every day like that could happen in the US. I'm curious. When it comes to priorities, how are you dealing with land tier? I pay about $100 a month I guess in tier and then there's $100 a month for musicians as I o
  5. AMForte is a staple in SL music. If you have been in SL for any length of time you have likely heard her name, seen in the events listings or even luckier, been to one of her shows. She is witty, extremely cooperative with venue owners. She will work hard to promote the venue and it's agenda as much as she does her own. I haven't met a venue owner yet who hasn't loved working with her. After getting back into SL she was one of the first musicians I decided to book and schedule on a monthly basis. She's been around SL for awhile so I wanted to bring her to you so that her fans could get t
  6. This group contacted me via my Facebook page. I looked around their sites and listened to their music and decided to write up an article to share them with all of you... You can read the entire entire article here. HGMM: Tell us about the name "Peace Theory". What is the origin of the name? Is this the band's first name or has it gone through changes? RON PALOS (bassist and vocalist): The original name of the project (when it started as an acoustic duo!) was Palos Pescados, a play on the last name my brother and I have. When we found our current drummer, we changed the nam
  7. I was attending a live stream of AcousticEnergy Nitely and AMForte and was about to leave when someone I hadn't heard of before went live. Her name was Rosemary Rita. I was completely stunned at her strong, amazing, beautiful voice. So, I stayed. I'm glad I did! I knew right away I had to interview her! How come I hadn't heard of her before? She didn't have the following that AE and AM do, but I've concluded the only reason for this is because she's not been heard. I quickly opened my IM and sent her a message asking for an interview. I had to know her story. Read the article in it's enti
  8. HGMM:I have known you for a long time! I remember hosting for you in SL with Throughthesewalls Moody. A fan favorite at the time was “Baby”, although I seem to remember that wasn't the “official” name of the song then. So much has changed for you over the years. Speaking to you recently, you mentioned that you are phasing out of the SL music scene. I am sure there will be many disappointed fans in SL, however; all is not lost You have taken your musical career to a new level in your RL playing with a band called The Juniper Hills Band. Please tell my readers what prompted this change? Why lea
  9. HGMM: Evan, I first interviewed you in April of 2013. Tell us, what's been the biggest change in your life since then? EVAN: Wow, 7 years! A lot has changed. I think my vocal style has changed the more I hear and am influenced by different types of music. I have 3 singles out on all major streaming platforms, I have a great job that I love. So much has happened! HGMM: When interviewing your dad (James Olmos) I believe he mentioned that you don't play in SL so much anymore. Do you plan on streaming in SL anytime in the near future? Do you play anywhere in RL at this time? Visit https://
  10. I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Tony Farris in my home recently and we had a great interview! This young musician is talented beyond his 23 years. You owe it to yourself to check him out! I had the pleasure to sit down in my home with Tony Farris, a 23 year old singer/songer from Hopewell, Virginia who; in his young musical career, has written more than 100 originals since he was 14. Among those, his favorites are "Wishing Well" and "Gold Mine". Tony has been featured in the Hopewell News for his music. He has graced the cover of the Lifestyles section of the Prog
