Question for animation specialists. I wanted to use internal static animation/pose avatar_surf.bvh from here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Internal_Animations but due to the use of the AVsitter I need to upload it to SL. But an error appears when uploading "Unknown joint neckDummy". In the bvh hierarchy file, I see two joints with names JOINT neckDummy and JOINT figureHair that probably cause the error. I tried to remove them but the animation is distorted. Any ideas on how to fix this? I would like to use this particular animation/pose. I post bvh here in the hope it helps. HIERAR

I'm using Maya to rig and animate some mesh bare cat ears. I rig them and the offset joints are kept when I upload it. But as soon as I play an animation made for it, it reverts the joints to normal orientation. I can't figure what's wrong. I found one, I have to rig with Z being the up axis, but animate with Y being the up axis. But everything I try the animation still crunches them back to normal joint orientation and voids the offset joints. SL treats the animation as a deformation as well and undeform avatar returns them to the offset joints. I've been animating using the same offset joint

Hello I am working on making avatars and would like to add some animation functionality to them. For example, I'm trying to create a head with a movable jaw, controlled by a slider that goes from closed to fully open. The head is rigged to the bento bones, so what I'm trying to find out is if it is possible to control an animation in-world, frame by frame, or if I would have to cut the animation into individual animations for each frame, toggling between several animations along the slider to open and close the mouth (The latter option seeming quite wasteful). Secondly, I am slightly

Is there any way to use proper animation software to make BVH animations for SL? I'll be blunt about it, Qavimator is way too basic and limited for me; preferably, I'd love to be able to use something more flexible/multi-purpose, such as Maya (or less desirably, 3DS Max) to create and export animations in the BVH format for use in-world with avatars. All the threads I keep finding though either are full of dead links, or deleted posts. I'm currently using a combination of Maya 2016 and 3DS Max 2011 for all of my 3D work, so if there's any way I could use either of these to create my own animat

I'm trying to animate in maya and using the exporter (version 5) found here: http://circle.twu.net/progs/ When I preview my animation in secondlife, which axis is rotating seems to be messed up? I've tried changing the rotate order in the exporter since that seems like the right thing to do, but the only thing that happened is that secondlife couldn't read my file. How do I fix this?
