  2. Yes, I did read your specs, and frankly for playing SL you could have saved a ton of money and gotten similar performace. I find I have no problem controlling my driver using the NVidia control panel in NVidia Experience. I have double checked by uninstalling both Firestorm and the latest SL viewer and reinstalling both; neither installation changed my global setting (adaptive) nor my viewer specific settings (both set to maximum performance in 3D mode). That said I'd love to run Whirly's nightlies if I had a chance.
  3. If you're getting 20-30 fps in a worst case scenario SL is running pretty great, not like garbage.
  4. You'll should be specific about the kind of experience you want from your build, but here's an example. A low-end build including: an Intel Core i3 CPU/Mobo combo will cost you about $200, a mid-range NVidia card will cost you $100 (GTX750 1GB), 8GB RAM will cost you $60, and a 120GB SSD will cost you $60. That leaves you $80 for the power supply and case (do-able). I assume you have some spare parts around to put into the build, and either an old HDD or external HDD to use for file storage. This won't be a rock star build but if you don't mind gaming on low to mid graphics in SL, it'll work.
  5. The benchmark for LL to restart a mainland region used to be fewer than 10 avatars.
