  1. I have been experiencing a very similar issue here, crashing out every few minutes with an error saying that Second Life has stopped working and needs to close down, it's extremely frustrating because I want to rp, and more or less impossible with constant crashing. Getting 1% or so packet loss and the latency is all over the damn place, but the thing is that everything was working fine just yesterday.
  2. I don't have any advice to offer I'm afraid, though you could check your maximum kbps in the preferences, it should not exceed your actual internet speed, latest drivers may also help and seems there are some known issues with AMD GPUs. I've been experiencing constant crashes as well, but only since the most recent update, I use the official SL viewer but right now it seems to be crashing out on a regular basis, either telling me that the Second Life viewer has encountered a problem and needs to close, or it will just CTD without any notifications what so ever, My specs are: MSI MS-7816 motherboard Intel® Core i3-4170 CPU @ 3.70GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.7GHz 12gb DDR3 RAM Windows 10 Home Edition 64 bit NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti and a 1.3mbps maximum connection speed I do get around 200 latency since I am in Australia, but it's never caused me any major issues before apart from the occasional lag storm.
  3. Thank you Ansariel That particular solution did not work on its own, however it did give me the idea to manually clear out my SL cache completely as well as the SL roaming data on my C drive (I use Windows 7). Once I did all that and started up the viewer, it loaded up without any problem
  4. OK so I appear to have encountered a rather frustrating issue with the latest official viewer... version 3.4.5.270263... It just does not at all appear to have any desire whatsoever to actually load up my viewer. Start it up everything's fine, goes through the motions until we get to 'Initialising VFS...' From there, nothing else, the program still appears to be responding it just refuses to go any further. Now I rather like the official viewer, it was a little jarring from the first viewer 2.0 but I've adapted and I really quite love it now, but this issue isn't making me happy. I can reload an earlier version of the SL 3.x viewer and it loads up no problem, but of course we are forced to keep our viewers updated to THE latest no matter what, I'll probably have to arrange a totally different installation that won't be over-ridden by the automatic forced update thing. I did dl the latest Firestorm viewer and it loads up fine, but the interface is a bit confusing to me and I HATE the chat interface so I have no intentions of switching permanently. Does anyone have any idea why my normal viewer is doing this and have some genius ideas on how I can go about fixing it? because I really would like my normal viewer working again.
