  1. Clouds in my photo were rendered by that viewer. No one can see them but me. Developer Beauchamp really had an imagination and desire to do something, anything, that LL refused to do. The clouds you've shown are what we could see in a perfectly run SL, along w your water photos. Oh well. I'm not at all shocked about lab decisions anymore.
  2. See my above post on the cloud issue workaround. The things you mentioned would've been awesome. Scroll down for downloads: http://sldev.free.fr/
  3. Speaking of real clouds, the Cool VL Viewer will render a cloud deck for VFR on top, or simulated IFR approaches using the HSI HUD which, when set to the proper mode, will indeed give horizontal and vertical guidance to the runway like an ILS. That viewer still works if you want to use it for that. It actually looks better than the photo because I had my draw distance a bit low. Lower the vis by adding fog and you'll be in deep.
  4. Yes I know all about surfer prim waves, but that's not what I'm after. Is it possible for SL water - all of it - to have swells, waves, and chop (not surfer waves) for realism in sailing? I know another platform that does so I would think it possible. If it's not possible for whatever reason I suppose this will be a short thread LOL.

  6. The Lindens, as usual, created the problem in the first place by removing last names and switching to "resident." Nothing worse than regressionary changes for the sake of change just to make some upper level manager think you're "doing" something. /rant
  7. Cool VL viewer can create a cloud deck which you can fly through and above, making ILS approaches with the HSI HUD quite interesting for the pilots among us/
  8. The best mentors are those people who help out of kindness and not out of some sort of "status" by being selected by the Lindens. THAT is paying it forward, not what they've got planned.
  9. Sailing vessels in order of purchase: Oceanic, Bandit 60.
  10. One of SL's classic places that should've been preserved even if the Lindens had to pay for it and write off the expense.
  11. Always sad when good places disappear. Of my favourites above, it appears only the owner of Midnight Reflections is still in SL with a lovely homestead classic cuddle sim with dance posts, much like Ode/
  12. Well. With a bit of research, it seems I answered my own question about the places I listed. http://www.slentre.com/second-life-traffic-report-midnight-relfections-melts-hearts-in-may/
  13. Mine are Midnight Reflections, Sleek Beach, Lesbian Paradise which was a hoot, Bora Bora (several sims of desolate lovely beach.) What are some of yours that you miss? Does anyone know who built these lovely places and if they're still in SL? They were all high traffic when they went away so I know it wasn't that. Thanks for your contributions and participation. This is part of SL History and I think it's important and interesting to know the stories behind the scenes. Cheers! Memories and artistic genius:
