  1. I have a Sim Surround of a city around my Sim. However, I noticed when I go up to my tallest buildings, I can see ocean behind the sim surround. I can even see it at the bottom, between the buildings. To counter this, I would like to add a circular mega prim behind the Sim Surround buildings and place some sort of image on it. Just enough to cover the ocean from the tallest building of my city. Any idea how this can be done? I'm not very skilled with Sim Surrounds and this was a pre-made one that I added. Thank you in advanced.
  2. Thanks for the tips folks, and sorry for the late reply. I'm going to get started on this right now, top to bottom!
  3. Long story short: I need an down to earth (hell, underground) online service that will let me upload 1 song (about 50MB) and stream it unto my Second Life land 24/7 for as cheap as possible. Short Story Long: It seems simple enough. Stream a song, one song...unto your Second Life land. But no matter how many times i've tried to figure it out, I can't. I've read a lot of the guides and am left still scratching my head. I downloaded shoutcast and winamp and had no idea what to make of everything, lol Granted, I have no idea what i'm doing, or at least barely, despite being tech savy in other areas of computers. I played my music and installed a shoutcast plugin and tried connecting to a relay server I rented but to no avail. I'm looking for a hosting service that will stream. I figure the song needs to be streaming at all times 24/7, right? Also I figure having it hosted and streaming on a hosting site will be the easiest way since you just copy the link and paste it unto your "about land" section. Thanks in advance. In any case, I could use some suggestions on an inexpensive solution for 1 song. Thanks in advance for your help!

  5. Aye, the web hosting is what i'm looking for. Thanks for the info!
  6. I feel i'm pretty good around computers. Building my own PC's is a fun hobby I enjoy. As far as software goes, I can barely remember to update the apps on my iphone. Anyways, I'm far too confused to install a server on my PC like Shoutcast. I'd rather just host it and be done with it. Any recommendations for inexpensive hosting options some of you guys use? I really only need 1 song on loop, however, I would be open to more maybe at a later date. On that note, is it possible to create a certain song for a certain part of the land? For example, you walk on a land and hear one music, then you walk into a house and it switches. Just curious. Thanks in advance!
  7. Thanks for the quick reply. At the moment, I rent the land, but have "full rights" to the it to do as I wish. Does this not apply as "owned" in the sense of the television?
  8. I know there are a few LIVE TV stations in Second Life, but i've yet to find a TV that will play these stations. I tried the Treet TV most recently, but it won't play any stations I select. Has this been an issue lately? If so, does anyone know a TV I can get that will let me watch streaming Second Life Television? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks for the tips and sorry I didn't respond sooner. I will look into those ideas. Hopefully the less expensive, the better. I have a feeling though that the best way to achieve what i'm looking for is to learn how to do Sim Surrounds myself.
  10. How would one go about creating their own Sim Surround? I'm sure it's way above my "pay grade" though, so given that reality, how could one get a custom Sim Surround. There are a ton of great Sim Surrounds on the market, however, none suit what i'm looking for in particular. Just curious and wanting to research my options ahead of time. Thank you.
  11. That's a good point. Although I do need a lot of fading lights, I will certainly keep tabs on how it's affecting the viewer throughout the whole process. I have a great gaming PC and rarely experience issues in SL as to performance unless it's a server problem, but I do have an older MAC which might clue me in as how an average person may view the sim. I also looked on the Marketplace and saw there were more than a few options for fading lights. But there are few places to see the item in world and almost no demos. I've learned from experience things are not as they seem in the picture or description and am hesitant to try a few of them and waste the Lindens unless I know it works.
  12. I tried out the ghost. Unfortunately in this case, when I placed it and looked "inside", I didn't see any script. I saw you had a link on the ghost's item page for some sort of script, but it was a dead link. In any case, if you do have that script somewhere, i'd be happy to pay for a full rights version of the script so I can edit things such as fade speed interval, etc.
  13. Thank you for the intial tips! I'll check that out when I can get on my PC next, likely later this afternoon! I have zero scripting experience, but I guess I may end up having to learn one way or another.
  14. I'm looking to buy a script that will fade lights in and out (slowly). I've seen plenty of blinking lights, but I don't see anything that fades in and out. I imagine fading lights takes a little more time and effort versus blinking, but fading is what I need for my projects.. I would like the ability to also sync lights to fade in and out together as well versus having a bunch of random lights fading at random. Anyone with the know how to help? I have also posted a video of an example of what i'm looking for. Click the video and fast forward to @30:15 (thiry minutes and fifteen seconds). As the character on screen walks around Esthar City, you'll see all sorts of fading lights in all sorts of locations. It adds a hi-tech and industrial vibe that can't be done any other way than with these kinds of lights, agree?
  15. Your right. Even when I logged back in the settings I had changed were gone. That's too bad. Not every setting is meant to be next to a Caribbean setting sunset scene. I still need to research what a Mega Prime is and see some examples on how other Sims hide the ocean such as Insilico and the FF7 Midgar Server, etc.
