  1. Thank You Beq. I already have Win10 installed as a dual boot. But it has nothing I need, and I will have to find some new applicatioin software that was never updated to run on Win10, and learn how to use it. I will lose a few weeks of sleep getting it all back in shape on Win10. And because of your 3 version policy, I can always keep Win7 for my old applications that also run with SL until Win7 dies from unnatural causes. I will not miss the SLViewer one iota, I only used it for testing anyway. There will be less fortunate residents who only have a Win7 computer and will not know how to upgrade, and can't afford a new system. But they too have time, thanks to the TPV.s. Do you think LL support will tell them to install Firestorm as a short term solution? If they have never tried a TPV, you and others will be getting new clients, as SL is forcing them off their **** viewer.
  2. Nope. I did that, removed all registry and other files from the SL Viewer - like a clean install, with the uninstaller. I still get the same missing files messages from ANY of the listed SL viewer versions when I try to re-install. Did the latest version delete these essential window DLL's ? They should install any dll files they have modified for their program, not remove them. But they apparently delete them, and not replace if Win 7. I hope LL doesn't find a way to delete the files for Firestorm viewers as well. Added later - The missing files were never in Win7. I checked two recent backups of my entire WIn7 system, on the cloud and a different hard drive, and neither of the files mentioned in my error messages were present in Win7 system or in the SLViewer folders. So the 'SLVersionChecker.exe' is preventing the missing dll files from being loaded at all. An effective way to block all Win7 systems from being used in SL. A public notice that WIn7 is now blocked from all SLViewers versions would have been more professional, imo, perhaps with a week of lead time for those that need to install Win10 or Win11. I doubt I am the only SL resident in the entire world that is still using Win7, which has up until now performed flawlessly, even with the alpha/beta PBR SL viewers. And I am no longer burdened with the Win7 program updates, which often break things until MS fixes it the next update. Finally a stable operating system! Security updates are STILL active in Win7, btw, in case someone thinks Win7 is a security risk. Real time monitoring of all incoming files still protecting the system, in addition to my router firewall port protection.
  3. I tried to install an older version, 6.6.16.582201 - Maintenance-V, which always would install before. It to is now blocked with the same missing files error messages. So basically ALL of the installable versions of the SL Viewer are now blocked from Win 7 users, and not just the two latest versions? I hope Firestorm and other TPV's do not start to block Win 7 from all of their past versions as well. This is what LL has done it seems. I have Win10 installed on a new SSD, but am not looking forward to moving the 1000 or so programs I use in Win7 over. Some will not run in Win10, some need new drivers, and it's about a 1 week hassle to get transfered. Since I can dual boot, I can go to Win7 when necessary. I wll ask Firestorm developers if their next release versions for PBR and non-PBR will also block Win7 from installation. Hopefully the TPVs will not be forced to follow the LL path without any warning.
  4. Yes I am. So all Win7 users will no longer be able to install the SL Viewer? I can try to re install the api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll in Win7, since it seems to be the same for Win 7 through Win11. But I guess you are checking the viewer version, and blocking Win7, with no possible fix? Is that correct? Win7 is also blocked on your non GLTF version now. Why? You just wanted to force all Win 7 viewers to upgrade?
  5. The two latest versions of the SL Viewer, the 6.6.16.6566955269 - GHA default release, and the latest PBR "beta" release, 7.0.1.6658224456 - GLTF Material Import. will no longer install on my system. Firestorm still works fine, although I have not installed Firestorm in the last 2 days. I assume these windows files were somehow deleted. Where do I find them? Since no one else has reported this, I figure it's a local problem. Here are the two error messages I get when attempting to install any SL Viewer. I already uninstalled the prior GLTF viewer as suggested. Now neither release version will install.
  6. House is open - poker game (not strip poker), witches table (sit on), and roaming zombie (harmless, has food in his room) inside. Don't bump the pumpkins. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gardyloo/134/113/23
  7. Northfarthing region has been down and/or not accessible since 21:38 SLT on Jan 6, Monday night. Ticket was filed when sim crashed Monday night, and nothing was done, or done correctly. The Big Map showed another region from the mainland (Northfarthing is a private island sim) as replacing it. But there was no region there and no access, just fake water, as observed from the adjacent region south of it. Then Tuesday mid day the correct private full region was returned and restarted, but the region was closed to any residents, including the owner -The "unable to grant capabilities" message when trying to enter. Live chat told the region owner nothing could be done before the restarts were over at 3pm slt. But support ends at 3pm, so any action on further tickets was ignored. This region houses several main stores for longtime clients, some smaller shops, many rental apts, a Blues club open 24/7 with 12 hrs/day of events, and several role play platforms from medieval to space. 32 hours with no access, and counting...
  8. You might want to try this, copied from Patch Linden's Topic: "Additionally, we have implemented the ability for parcel owners to reset their house controller scripts (the mailbox or life ring for rezzing a different house) should a Resident encounter an issue generating the house selection menu. If you do not receive a house selection menu when you click your House Controller, simply click on and hold the Controller for at least two seconds to reset the scripts. This should correct for most issues of this nature. If the problem persists after attempting this, please contact support."
  9. Time to remind the new residents about setting their security orbs. I was flying over the new houseboats tonight and triggered this one: 'Alyssa_Security_Orb' --Warning-- You have entered a private parcel, please leave now or you will be removed in 2 seconds. Good thing I was in my jet cruising at 30m/sec - just made it through before losing it. I sent her a polite IM with Covenant security orb rules.
  10. This would be the perfect time to announce the 2nd batch of Linden Home houseboats are ready.
  11. Well at least community.secondlife is still up - so don't have to do something useful in RL yet I was logged out with about 6 mins left in my set tonight - but kept streaming just in case. Looks like we all got hit w/ the planned network maintenance.
  12. I was logged off at 19:04 slt, was able to get logged in again about 19:26
  13. Assuming you have turned on Sit/Lay and Walk/Run in the Animation menu, your cat should start to move within 20 mins or less. If you think something is wrong with your free Firestorm cat, just file a support ticket with the cat's ID#, and they will send you a fixed copy to replace it. Callie Cline is the owner and designer for KC, but not a customer support person. She was in an auto accident a few months ago and on her doctor's orders, must remain in bed while she recovers from her injuries. She can only sit at her computer a short time until she heals. This has nothing to do with your possible broken kittycat script. KC is alive and well. There is an active 24/7 discussion group with CSR's usually online. In your case, they would tell you to file a ticket as everyone else does if sending the cat to the cattery and back does not work. "The Christmas decorations are still out." Did you really check the sim? Spring flowers and butterflies everywhere outside, with green grass and spring blooming trees, chirping birds and rabbits. And a few Easter eggs still around. Large Kittycat Easter eggs inside the building too, but Easter Sunday was just 4 days ago. The small pile of snow with a Christmas bulbs outside the front entrance might just indicate the owner of the snow decorations, who is also the CSR manager, is busy handling customer issues. If you file a ticket to Kitten, I bet she will remove the snow piles for you.
  14. Green, where do you get that neat online graph? I just logged in, 13840 residents currently logged in I show
  15. It sound like you took the box contents to inventory which will break the kittybox. You must file a support ticket and Kittycats support will replace it for you. You can register at their website https://kittycats.ws and file a support ticket under the Support tab. You could also go their Main shop inworld, and ask a CSR to help you. The way you get the kitty out of the box is to left click on it after rezzing, get the Kittycats menu, and then click on the Unpack button and wait 10 minutes for your tiny kitten to appear. If you did this and your cat is in pieces inworld after you Unpack, still file a ticket. It's possible the seller repacked the cat and forgot a script.
