Panterapolnocy: Set Google Public DNS, cleared the DNS cache, rebooted, still can't log in. Lindal: "Maybe LL banned your IP address by mistake. This can happen if a bunch of people are using the same public IP address and LL bans one of them." Oh that's an interesting suggestion, though if that were the case I would really have expected a more useful notification than just "something went wrong." I got out my Mac Mini and fired it up, started Firestorm (same version): same error, cannot log in because something went wrong. So I guess the problem is not at my end, I will raise a ticket as you suggested. Thanks!

hello panterapolnocy, thanks for the answer. FS was already whitelisted, no Kaspersky just WIndows Defender. Typing the name/password by hand didn't work, same error. Can't figure out how to change the DNS server. I'll try deleting cache.

SL was working just fine on Tuesday, since yesterday I cannot log in on any account, just says "Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong." All accounts fail, changing the login destination makes no difference, both Firestorm and the official viewer fail. Yes, I have rebooted my computer. Yes, I have rebooted my modem. THe internet itself works fine, as this message proves. Windows 10, current versions of both viewers. The Status page says that everyrthing is fine. Any advice ? cheers Wol Euler

I ask myself rhetorically and the Lab seriously, if there will ever be a real functional useful Search capacity in the Marketplace? Because right now it is borked. Yes, it'll find what you want but it will also bury those few items in a huge avalanche of completely irrelevant crap. Example just now: I saw someone wearing a cute cropped T-shirt with the logo "No Bra Club" at a show, sent her an IM with compliment and request for the name of the maker, received back only silence. Fine, I thought, there's the Marketplace, I will just go look for it! Typed in No Bra Club. 400 results. The first page has one (1) t-shirt with the phrase on it, the other articles are entirely different. Next page: one relevant result. Next page: not a single relevant result. Next pages: only irrelevant results. So I read the Help page for the marketplace, and learned that boolean search operators are allowed. Great, let's try that. Typed in no AND bra AND club. 524 results! (Anyone that knows about search is already shaking their head, just at that number.) Choose one at random: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/INDIGO-VIBES-Lil-Black-Tank-YELL/20185345. Does the search phrase occur in the article? NO. How many of my individual keywords are in that article? NONE! ZERO!! Then why am I seeing it? Repeat that 500 times. I would personally call this a search failure. It's about time that you fixed this, guys. Database searching is a problem that was fully solved forty years ago. This is not rocket science.

Hi guys. I would like to pay my tier dues in advance for ten months, for various reasons that aren't important. Is this possible? I can't see any way to do so, it seems that I have to wait for the Lab to decide to bill me. Thanks in advance Wol

Hello Forum, I'm taking over the ownership of a group that already has all the land it needs, as the original owners no longer wish to pay tier. How can I donate (call it that) my tier allowance to the group to cover its land? The group has been in existence for seven years, the land is covered in buildings and other sfuff which I do NOT want to disturb. I've read the FAQs and the Knowledge Base, and cannot see any suggestion of how this works. Thanks in advance, Wol

I agree with the first posters (whose names are of course not visible to me now when I write this response. Grrrrr. Fail.) Surely the point of changing your skin is to change your appearance? If you don't want to change the way you look, then just don't change the way you look. Case solved! Just out of curiosity, why not buy one? Or if you don't want to spend even even a few RL pennies, why not go to one of the many freebie places and "buy" one for L$0? Feel free to contact me inworld if you want some LMs (drop a notecard, I'm on holiday and don't have enough bandwidth to get online so IMs will be capped).
