  1. Just to clarify, I have done every suggestion known to man. All of a sudden my avatar has become an orange mist. Things I've tried: Rebaking character test clear cache delete avatar folder changing group, hair, hair base, clothes etc. I'm clickable but not changing from mist. Probably other things as well, that I cannot remember. I have been able to get my avatar to show with character test, but when I chose a folder to replace the test look, it only shows most of my current worn clothing correctly. Then when I log back out, I come in an orange mist again. After googling everything under the sun, I'm at a loss. I am on a fast computer with 8 gigs ram, up to date graphics card and drivers (and a power supply to match the card). this is the first time I've had this happen. Any more ideas? Thanks.
  2. You were RIGHT! Thank you so much! For those of you who come upon this, go to your Advanced menu at the top of your screen (for a second i was looking for advanced option in the edit window haha). Uncheck "Hide Selected". Voila!
  3. Lately I've noticed (im using firestorm), that when I edit an object, it disappears when I move the prim via arrows. I also just see a bare bones outline when the object is right clicked, selected etc. Makes it impossible to create, move or edit items. Am I the first? Did I unknowinly change a preference?
  4. There are a few neat ways to do this. As others suggested, there are freebie stores. One more recent addition is Fab-Free, aka Fabulously Free in SL. Their site also links to a great full list of places offering freebies. Some are geared specifically toward new residents under 60 days old. This is my BEST pick for new people, as the freebies are more updated than some older stores. Also, many stores offer free gifts to people who join their groups. To do this, go to their in world store, and you'll need to subscribe to their group using an object in their stores, usually located near the door, or a desk if they have one. I'm not sure if it's still around, but there is a store called the Gnubie Store. They offer free and low priced items. Lastly, if you prefer to earn money rather than rely solely on freebies, you can look for stores that offer employment. Some are customer service, some are clubs looking for dj's, hosts of events, or even dancers (dancing tends to be more adult content). If you have some money but not enough to buy expensive clothes, some stores have sale rooms/outlets, or even short term sales going on that you can take advantage of. Hope this helps!
