  1. Dude, it sounds like we are on the same step. Even after they discovered I had ADD the solution was little yellow pills instead of actual help. That just made me even more hyper-active and hence even more badly behaved. I've known every paddle ever held by every principal of every school I ever attended. The only thing I learned was to hide in the corner and avoid people so I could avoid interacting and getting in trouble.
  2. As some of you may have noticed, I as well, am autistic. Diagnosed with ADHD and a string of hyper-active issues in 5th grade. Back then it was only ADD and the whole spectrum didn't exist yet. You either were or you weren't. If you think the way I communicate here is bad you should try it in person, or even worse, on the phone. I am probably the single most aggravating person to ever talk to on the phone. Because I don't look different, just talk and act differently, most people just assume I'm an ahole. Some days I can walk up to a crowd and just start babbling about stuff no one there cares about, and some days I can't leave the Yurt due to executive disfunction. I am a hermit, I live 40 miles from town and can go a month or more without ever seeing or talking to another person. There are a couple reasons I eschew society; some people suck, some people suck really bad, some people are the worst and will spread lies and hatred about you for no reason other than they don't like the way you talk, and I really don't play well with others. I've made a few friends over the years, people that understand what being neurodivergent is like. People that can ignore the bad times and understand that sometimes I don't mean anything I'm saying and probably don't even realize it's a bad thing to say. My brain simply doesn't make connections the way others do so I am very accepting of others idiosyncrasies. But I don't get along with most people because they can't understand the way I communicate, so I simply avoid most people, or avoid communicating. Ex. I've been a member of these forums for over 15 years and only posted about 300 times. I've probably deleted as many posts and replies here without posting them because I thought it would irritate people. Let's put it this way. I joined the SL Reddit and got shadow banned in under 60 days for "Kink shaming" in a post that actually had zero to do with kink shaming. Didn't even mention anything kinky, was asking who made a certain mesh body and got shadow banned. The Moderator simply didn't like the way I communicated so tossed me out under the table for no good reason except she didn't like me. But, I'm used to being treated that way, so I hide in the desert and don't post or interact a lot. This is actually the only forum I am a member of, I used to post on the "other" place we used to hang out to avoid LL moderation years ago. But otherwise SL and my FB page are my only outlets for human interaction. And I keep my FB friends list very small.
  3. Because you are making claims that any reviews the merchant wants removed can be easily removed yet you've never tried to have one removed. You have ZERO experience using the system you are making claims about. You are making claims based on minimum experience from only one side of the coin, and they are patently false. ".my fair and honest review is taken down." Claims like this one, show us the review and prove it was falsely taken down. You can't just make wild claims with no proof at all and expect anyone to take them seriously. You've never tried to have a review removed so you can't possibly know anything about that process. That's why I bring the fact you're not a merchant up. I'm not claiming to "see through you,' I simply believe that your review broke the rules or it would not have been removed. And I believe this due to my own personal experience with the review system. I'm not a fan of it at all, (really hard to believe I'm defending it actually) but what you are claiming is simply not true and paints all merchants with a tarred brush. Edited to add, IMO, which is fairly worthless, if they can't be bothered to create a demo or have an in world store, then they are not gonna get my money. Most of the stuff I sell isn't really something that can be made into a demo easily, so I keep a store in world and try very hard to have rezzing vendors that show the actual product, not just a picture on the wall. Hate following a link to "See item in world" only to be led to the same picture that was on the MP. But that's a whole different soap box.
  4. You're obviously not a merchant. My experience, being a merchant in SL since before they even bought the old marketplace, is that reviews are nearly impossible to remove. That's a little over 15 years of personal experience trying to get undeserved reviews removed. Of course, in all that time I have probably only reported a half dozen or so and more were left up than were taken down. if a review doesn't break the rules, it will not be removed. You, as someone who has never been a merchant, or tried to have a rambling hate filled review removed and been told no by SL because "it didn't break the rules", have no real evidence at all except that one of your reviews was removed so you feel the entire system is a cheat. I bet if you typed that review here, word for word but without names of people or products, we could tell you exactly why it was your own fault it got removed because YOU broke the posting rules. "This product is the worst ever and the customer service is abysmal," will never get deleted. However, "This thing is a pile of poop and the builder is an $%# who never replies..." will be taken right down. They both say exactly the same thing but only one breaks the rules. Just a little rule of thumb you can ignore or not, as you will. Demos and in world stores are your best friend. And check out reviews of other products by the seller. I often go to a stores main page and read several reviews from several products. How the seller responds to reviews is also a sign. For example, I'd never buy anything from me. I'm a real jack hole, and if you read my replies to some reviews, you'll agree that I shouldn't reply to any reviews. In fact I shouldn't talk to anyone at all. So I'm gonna shut up now, Good Luck!
  5. I was an Alt. 😃 I "retired" my OG account (Lord Berchot) when I sold my old Realty business, as it was the founder of many rental groups and that was part of the deal, and the name was just a little bit pretentious. I then turned this building alt into my main. So keep dreaming all you Alts! Any alt has the chance at becoming a main account if they work hard enough. I do have a female alt with a modern body & head for setting up furniture and such. I also log her in when I'm scripting. I'm not a narcissist, I don't need to look at myself all day while I'm working. And she is a lot cuter on a Burlesque dance pad. I have a "Playtime" alt for getting in trouble. That's to keep my business account separate from said trouble. I also have an animal alt that runs around as a Werewolf or a Minotaur when I feel the need to terrorize some helpless villagers. I give him all the really fun alternative avatars to play with.
  6. Yeah, I remember when that happened. Never understood why they did that. It used to make sense, new link gets added to the end, then suddenly, new link gets added in 2nd place, changing all the other link numbers and the object has to be re-rezzed to set the correct link numbers. Baffling why they changed that.
  7. ^ This right here was my first thought. I now have to go through hundreds of mesh items, rez them on world, compare the LI to the listing and if (changed), change the listings, LI counts and sales pictures because I as well, put the LI in the main pic. I guess I'll stop that practice, that made things easier on the shoppers, since it will now cause me a whole lot of extra work.
  8. I for one, can't wait for my new Robot Body. I'm old and I have not been good to this one. Go Go Cyber-Art!
  9. I had a customer who had purchased many items from me and left several 5 star reviews. One day they got mad because I didn't reply to a request for help fast enough and review bombed every item they had ever purchased with a 1 star, every one. All those things they had been happy with for years had nothing to do with the current issue, yet they all got review bombed. Did I do anything to deserve a flurry of 1 star reviews? No, I was travelling at the time and my profile and store info. both explained I was unavailable and gave my e-mail address for help if someone needed it. This person never e-mailed me but they trashed the ratings on over a dozen items. Because I didn't reply within a week. They were able to do this because the review system is a joke. It needs a lot of changes to be at all relevant and until reviews are mandatory all people will leave is either, "I loved it? or, "I hated it." While some do, well thought out and really good reviews, most people don't leave a review, especially on adult items. On SL someone can have a bad day and go back and review bomb anyone they want for no reason at all, except they were having a bad day. Changes I think should be made; If you don't leave a review within 30 days it should no longer be an option. You shouldn't be able to change a review after 30 days. No other site allows that. Some places don't even allow you to edit a review once left. You can remove it but not change it. The review process should include things like review bombing, but it doesn't. I'm stuck with dozens of unearned 1 stars. In short, you can't trust reviews. Or at least they must be taken with a large helping of salt. As mentioned above though, relisting an item to clear reviews is against the rules and should be reported. We do all need to play on a level field.
  10. I used to greet people when they would pop into my store. After realizing this made the majority of them instantly TP out I stopped doing it. I did a test for about a week and the results were doubtless. Almost 70% of the people I greeted instantly popped out without replying. In contrast 100% of the people I didn't greet, didn't pop out instantly. I have a couple CS people that hang out in the store sometimes and I've asked them to never greet first but always be ready to answer when they see a green dot appear. That said, I do love interacting with customers when they want to.
  11. People who can extrapolate a correct answer from partial information...
  12. Yep, I, and a few other creators, have found various ways to utilize animesh for interactivity with avatars and furniture. But generally speaking these are purpose built animesh, as in they come as a part of the furniture. The animesh has to have the animations in it's own contents so it really needs to be supplied with the specific ones for the specific furniture it will be used with. You (currently) can't create an animesh NPC that will sit and use random furniture owned by others. Different creators have different ways of doing it but it can be done, within certain limits. Other functions, such as following, are different commands entirely. All my standard animesh NPCs can follow, evade, patrol, wander etc. Those are done with pathfinding (usually) and are "easy" to script into animesh characters, but none of those can sit on a pose ball or furniture.
  13. No and Yeah, kinda. Note that I am discussing Second Life NPC's made with the Animesh feature. Animations must be in the NPC contents so you can't make one that will sit on and use animations contained in furniture. There is a script on the MP that supposedly allows this function, but I have not used it so can't verify if it does this or not. (I've heard the furniture needs to send the animation to the NPC and 'No Transfer' perms would stop this happening in most cases. It would work only if you owned both the furniture and the NPC, and the animations were copiable.) There are several NPC's/ Animesh/ Companions that you can modify/ change animations on/ re-position, and since you attach these to your avatar you can use them in no rez areas. Get an animesh with copy & modify perms and load it up with your favorite poses and go for it. Edited to add, There are several low cost, rigged mesh, BOM ready avatars for free and for $1 Linden on the MP. Making an animesh from one is simply a matter of dropping an animation in it and telling it what animation to play. Grab a freebie and start playing with it.
  14. I press, Win + ALT + R. Instantly turns on windows built in screen capture tool and starts recording. Win+ALT+G, will open the game bar control panel for more options but ever since I found that shortcut I've never needed a screencap program.
  15. It is 100% a fact that bullets must be rezzed or carried into a no rez zone. But you don't "need" bullets, that's true. Alternatives such as ray cast work great, I use it for a couple of my rides that have shooting elements, but there are no physical bullets or visual FX when using it. You could add particles or maybe a simulated laser beam, but for there to be bullets they must be rezzed or pre-exist. Good catch on my incomplete response to a year old thread though. =P
