Hello everybody,
I got the same problem here, although I attached sliders. Maybe I did something different wrong. I use Blender 2.75, Avastar 1.6.70 and Sparkles 1.6.70.
That's what I do: Select my Mesh object and the armature, go to skinning tab and select "attach sliders", "clear weights" and "interpolate". Weight source is "meshes". Then I bind the mesh to armature.
After that, I select the mesh, go to "fitting" tab und chose "fully fitted". Now I select the armature, and chose "fitted" in the "avatar appearance" tab and move the sliders. Unfortunately, just the avastar mesh deforms and the sliders don't have any influence on my mesh.
Did I forget anything?
