  1. Ah and the tip for coelesced itmes the other person gave is a very good tip. That would apply to if you just selected and copied the whole thing, house and all. When you rez that copy you want to already be in edit mode and stay in it, like she said, because all items will still be selected in a group if you are. If you aren't already in edit when you drag that mass from your inventory, you will have to reselect everything to move it as a group to a better position than where you first plunked it down. I will add that you CAN pick up a mass of items that are not copy...just select the group and choose "Take." I believe the last thing that you select when you pick them up is what the mass will be called in your inventory, so be sure to set up a folder with the you will identify it with....like "Parker house - Furnished" and that you put that mass into that folder once you "take" it. If the last thing you selected with was, say, a lamp, or just "object" or "roof" tht is what the mass will be called in your inventory, so proper folder naming and filing will be your best friend later on.
  2. As far as saving it, I assume you mean, you don't want to worry about accidentally moving or deleting items or parts of the house? Or do you mean you bought a prefab in a rez box and want to save the position and location? If you mean the first scenario, then you can go into Edit for each item, and for each section of the house (or select multiple items at a time, also works) and in the Object tab, choose LOCK. You won't be able to move or change the item while that box is selected. You can still delete or pick up the item, however, but will get a warning notices first, asking if you really want to do that to locked items. Two other options, since you say you want to save it all "as a whole" Is to select EVERYTHING by going into arial view and drawing a box around it all while in Edit mode, selecting all at once, and then from the pie menu, take a copy of everything and put that in a folder. However, for that to work, all items selected must have copy perms. The other option is to get a rez box script set (the same that builders put their houses in) and stuff all your items including your house in one of those, and then you could conceivably rez it all in a new location at a later date, like if you moved to a new parcel. However, in order to do this, everything you are saving must be both copy and modify. Copy, because when you derez it using the scripts, it actually deletes the rezzed items forever, allowing you to rez a new copy when you rez it all someplace else. The reason you must also have modify rights (not of the scripts in it, just the objects themselves) is so you can add the required script to each item or house part so you can use them in the rez box. I hope these answers help more than they confuse. Good luck!
  3. Hi Amanda! I've wondered myself and this is all I was able to find in the knowledge base, but maybe it will get you closer? Let me know if it works. Apparently, according to this, there is a way to delete it manually, but it suggests it will expire on it's own as long as you uncheck the auto renew. I found no directions for how to delete it manually, however. Important: To change the price of a classified ad, you must create a new classified and copy information from the original ad into the new one. Then, let the old classified expire by itself, or if you're sure, delete it manually. If you delete a classified early, you won't receive a refund for any remaining time left on your classified listing. If you want to stop paying for a recurring classified, make sure the Auto renew each week checkbox is unchecked.
  4. /me sings like a broken record: Look up live music concerts! We love new people! There are hundreds of musicians from all over the world, playing live at all hours of the day. I don't mean DJs. I mean real musicians and singers performing live from their homes and studios. It's amazing and it's free. It's usually populated with fun loving and welcoming poeple. And people won't hit on you all night to have sex. Most are open to a friendly hello and chat, especially if they know you are new to the live music scene or new to SL. All concerts have hosts present that will gladly help you with any tech issues you might have hearing the music or figuring out how to dance, etc. Just search in Events for Live Music. Someone is likely performing right now.
  5. Since you love music...you should look up live music in SL. Great way to make friends that have a love of music in common with you.
  6. Try some of the live music venues that cater to Aussies during Aussie evenings. There are several, like B&Bs and Kameleonz. Live music people are very friendly and are not likely to hit on you or make you uncomfortable. Ages range wildly because music attracts all ages. It's a place to start. Search for Events and then type in "live music" and then choose the Live Music category and you will see what is currently going on or about to start.
  7. I want to strongly recommend checking out the live music community. The live music scene in SL is very active, always busy, and very welcoming to newcomers. We are also a large bridge to meeting people from other lifestyle communities as well, including those involved in charities, graphic arts, scripting, various lifestyles like tinies, furries, fashion, etc. The music community comprises poeple from all interest groups and walks of life. When I say "live music" I don't mean night clubs, sex clubs, DJs, or tribute bands. I mean real musicians and singers performing live in real time from their homes and studios. Some shows are more like concerts, others are more like hanging out with a pal around a campfire and very interactive. Many will do requests. Many do original music. There are musicians performing 24/7 in SL, from all over the world, and performing all kinds of music. Classical, jazz, standards, undreground metal, Indie, blues, progressive rock, folk....it's all there. And it's all free to be enjoyed. The venues and the performers rely on donations or tips of Lindens, and a reasonable tip for each is in the 200-300L range. However all are always grateful for what you can share, even if it's only 20L. And if you have nothing, then contribute when you do. And this brings me to my final point. There are jobs where you can earn Lindens while enjoying the music and making friends. Live music venues need hosts. Musicians need helpers. It's easy to get involved. In fact right now there is a charity where many many musicians perform that needs hosts and are willing to train even inexperienced people. You don't have to strip, you don't have to spam people, you just have to love music and love helping others. Feed - A - Smile is a charity that feeds, clothes, and educates children in the slums of Kenya, Africa. They are looking for people right now. But there are many ways to get involved, and there are always people at live music shows. So....do a search in events under Live Music and see who you can find that might be playing, and make some new friends while enjoying a great live concert. Sincerely, Freestar aka Ren (PS. I am not a representative of the charity mentioned above but as a musician I have played for them. I want to clarify too, that hosting for them does not pay, because it is a charity, however it is a great way to get your feet wet and hear a lot of great musicians and make new friends.)
