The real secret of Second Life
Bree Giffen replied to Charlemagne Allen's topic in General Discussion Forum
ChatGPT Second Life is often categorized as a virtual world rather than a game, although it can incorporate elements of gaming. In Second Life, users can create and customize avatars, interact with other users, build and design virtual environments, buy and sell virtual goods, attend events, participate in activities, and much more. Unlike traditional video games, Second Life does not have a specific set of objectives or goals imposed on users. Instead, it provides a platform for socializing, creativity, and exploration. Some users engage in activities within Second Life that resemble gaming, such as role-playing, racing, or exploring virtual landscapes, but the overall experience is more open-ended and user-driven than that of a typical game. -
The real secret of Second Life

I guess we have nothing to worry about fellow residents. Second Life is not a video game. -

The kind of music I like in SL are the ones presented as a live performance with the singer as an avatar and playing a single instrument. It feels more immersive. Music played in clubs are just piped in music that I can hear on the internet. There was a song that used to be in many clubs that I liked but I never figured out what it was or rather I never searched for the name.

Thunes to acquire payments platform Tilia LLC
Bree Giffen replied to AzureWaves's topic in General Discussion Forum
I think selling Tillia to Thunes and then using Thunes as a global payment processor will remove monetary roadblocks that stop LL from appealing to people outside of the US. If LL wanted to advertise themselves to people in other countries this would be a good time. There is a 5 year agreement where Thunes and LL work together to make this new payment processing look good to prospective clients so there's incentive to not make things worse for SL residents. LL might still have non-controlling shares in Tillia and that could guarantee continued goodwill and favorable terms after the agreement ends. I'm speculating. I'm sure bad things could be speculated as well. Only time will tell. -
Thunes to acquire payments platform Tilia LLC
Bree Giffen replied to AzureWaves's topic in General Discussion Forum
My initial take is that this might help people outside the US with payments into SL and it might help bring a larger group of people in from around the globe. LL itself is not being sold but is selling Tillia. Our happy little world remains. https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidprosser/2021/11/12/how-thunes-is-building-a-new-payments-system-for-the-world/ -
Can you use a Meta Quest 3 (or 2) in SL?
Bree Giffen replied to Dazzer01's topic in General Discussion Forum
The Oculus Quest is technically the Meta Quest 1. I haven't used it play SL VR since my desktop computer died. SL VR isn't very dizzying if you are in 3rd person view. Our avatars look different in VR than how they look on a 2D screen. The connection goes like so: Quest headset w/ Quest OS -> PC w/ Rift OS -> Steam VR OS -> Firestorm VR Here's my old post. The method to connect has probably changed and hopefully has gotten better. -
You can't show a group of ten possible prizes and then reward people with one of those prizes chosen randomly. Which is what a gacha does. As long as people know what they get with their purchase then it should be fine.

Items gone after Moving Home
Bree Giffen replied to AmyPinkLegend's topic in General Discussion Forum
They may be in a coalesced object located in some other inventory folder such as the objects folder. If they were linked for some reason they may appear as a single object with the name of the last object linked. Might also want to check the 'recent items' folder to see what new objects were recently added to the inventory folder. Drag these new objects out in a sandbox to see if they are the actual objects or something else. -

Bree Giffen replied to WildHeart Calamity's topic in General Discussion Forum
I tried to search for this particular error as it relates to Invision forum software and I read that this happens when the server runs out storage space. Must be all those pics we post in that forum. It should cause all of us to have that problem though and have been able to access that forum just fine. -

This is sad news. I just bought some summer clothes from there recently. I hope the owner all the best and thank her for keeping us clothed. -

Not sure how he finds me every time
Bree Giffen replied to Myrthe Mysterious's topic in General Discussion Forum
I don't know the specifics of what is happening but perhaps you can create a poison pill by uploading unattractive pictures of someone else to your profile and pass it off as yourself. Not wildly unattractive but just enough to make the stalker think it's no longer worth it. Another method would be to create a honeypot avatar that gets all of the attention from your stalker while you have a second true avatar that exists separately. Then keep both logged in at the same time. These suggestions may be extreme but it seems you have tried everything else.
