  1. Double-click on clothes in your inventory to wear them. Not add.
  2. I have a gaming laptop with an external monitor using hdmi. On the laptop screen I get 165fps with vsync and 230fps without. On my external monitor I get 60fps with vsync and 240fps without. I don't really move around a lot in SL. It's mostly my avatar shifting around as I try demos. SL doesn't push the laptop as much as some of the games I also play on it.
  3. I used the Linden SL viewer and whenever I log in the mainland parcel's lighting is usually at night. It takes a lot of mouse movement and 10 (ten) mouse clicks to change my personal lighting to basic viewable light with no shadows. That's a lot of clicks every single time I log in to SL. You have a player base that includes many older players and carpal tunnel is real thing. You can hide it in the debug settings if you want.
  4. Youtube could also take down content if the video is being used for harassment and stalking.
  5. I was thinking about making a shop to support whaling. It'd have the usual sailor clothing and rubber boots but also specific items needed for hunting whales such as flensing knives, blubber boiler kettles, harpoons, etc.
  6. If I won the lottery, I'd be playing SL on a golden throne with my computer on a solid gold desk.
  7. Microsoft is installing it's AI into your computers right now.
  8. LL never intended for account age to be something where avatars have a sense of 'oldness' but SL has existed for so long that it does. Account age doesn't give out real age but it does give users a perceived difference of age. We haven't seen this sort of thing in online virtual worlds or in MMOGs because most other places either die out before account age difference can be perceived or are so new that account age doesn't matter. It's an interesting phenomena that I think LL should keep because it makes SL unique.
  9. I had to make a spreadsheet using Google Sheets to write down the items I was thinking of buying, the price and the location on the map . Then I looked at each item and checked them against what I had already purchased to avoid any duplicate styles. I also set a budget on what I was going to spend and sadly had to put some items on the backburner. I did it because this month had so many things I wanted to buy and couldn't keep track of all of them. Does anyone else plan out their buying with spreadsheets? Or do you make all decisions on the fly and calculate everything your head? Or do you not shop?
  10. I think a lot of prank videos are staged. I mean, we typically see someone wandering to a place and trolling people where everyone is using voice and speaking relatively well enough to understand and record a video? They don't ban them immediately but just have a conversation? Anyways, for the OP, it is possible for someone to gain your personal information through social engineering. They'll ask open ended questions and then drill down to get specific information without ever asking you where you live. The only safe thing to do is lie during every single friendly conversation with strangers. My current cover is that I live in New England with a labrador named Fluffy.
