  1. Honestly that's a cute idea to me. Especially if you are, say, at a busy pub and post in the pub group "hey ya'all i have a picture of us all dancing while dj so and so was playing who wants it?" Maybe that's just me being nostalgic for when that kind of thing would happen in friend groups and clubs a long time ago, though I'd maybe like to be told if I was going to be posted somewhere, just so i could go and see it or see who else was photographed.
  2. hi and welcome back! Where have you been so far that you liked? I'd be down to go sim hopping sometime!
  3. Hi there! What hours are you usually on, SLT? Do you have any favorite passtimes you might like people to join you for?
  4. That sounds super cute to me, ngl, and I'd even consider staying in such a place for a small rent/small LI limit just because I'm not around much these days. I'm not sure how a scaled up model would look that keeps everybody happy and avoids weird unhappy things though.

I'm only on a few days a week, so I'm sure your response time is loads faster than mine, anyway! It's always a good thing to put time into anything you say... makes it shine the most like your inner light. I have had this Hanson-Roberts deck for I *think* about 8 years. I had a Cosmo deck long ago that always felt to me like an impetuous young man. Which then rteminds me of the most manly male deck I ever had was a Dragon set. He was brutally honest, arrogant and conciteded. Although he put up with me he actually loathed being handeld by other women. If you are oictuyring a knuckel draggiing misoginist you have the right image. Eventually I did a reading for a male friend and the cards chose him. It was like brothers in all things from the first touch. So I gave my friend the deck. My GAY friend And it suddenly all made sense. lmfao! sounds like that ended well for both of them!good job matchmaking unintentionally! I'm actually curious to see if my destiny's portal is more attentive to one of my rl friends than she is me... the friend mentioned adoring the artist and losing her own same deck, years ago.
  6. Rhonda Huntress wrote: If you do not mind me butting in, my favorite is Hanson-Roberts. Maybe it's just MY Hanson-Roberts deck, tho. She can be playfully maschivious but she just talks to me. No such thing as butting in! Howdy and welcome! My first deck was The Wild Unknown tarot. She's ... well, I'll say that she values brevity and answers clearest in three card pulls that very rarely need further explanation. My second deck was the Cosmos oracle and tarot by light grey art labs. They, on the other hand, are incredibly chatty. I can get as many as six cards jump out of my hand while I'm shuffling for just one question! I've recently been getting more closely attuned to the Destiny's Portal oracle my mother passed down to me. She's a bit terse and I don't think she appreciated being a shelf ornament for so many years... but that's about to change. How long have you had your Hanson-Roberts? I've never seen one in person, but the pictures on google look nice! I like how subdued the colors are compared to most Rider-Waite I've seen, and that they seem very people/face centered on a lot of the cards.
  7. Hi there! I'm a witchy sort into divination! I have a couple different oracle and tarot decks, and I'd love to read for one another. I'm living in the woods currently, so I only have internet one or two days a week when I visit the Outside World, but I'd love to bring my decks with me and chat with you in world or over emails, chat clients, etc. What's your favorite deck?
  8. Hey, both newbies in this thread. Welcome on in to SL. Avoid the trolls and bigots, and tp out if there's suddenly lots of physic'd genitals, couches, pears, or other objects within view distance and don't come back for a day or two. You'll likely enjoy the music, art, and live entertainment scenes. Rp or cosplay related to anime could also be of interest. Anyways, I'm into digital art and virtual photography. I also hunt freebies and blog about things I find in SL occasionally. So... there's lots of places I could direct you that are absolutely great for exploring or getting parts or clothes for an avi that's easy on the pocket. I'm into goth and fantasy, which is likely evident by peeking at my profile pic or any pics of my avi. I... also run a gaming clan through xfire if you ever want to play MMOs or something together. Pass me an IM/NC or leave a message at my web profile.
  9. You may want to check out goth clubs like Descension. Searching for Indie clubs may give you some people that look the part. Although Goth's a completely different subculture, seeking out goth clubs that play music similar to your favored genres will open up some doors. You can check in people's picks and classifieds for further locations. Since I wasn't ever part of the emo or scene communities anywhere within or without sl, I can't recommend any scene or emo clubs. You might want to check out neko culture, though, as it has a close relationship to emo, grunge, goth, and sometimes even scene culture. You might want to pop the names of a few of your favorite artists into search. You might get groups, stores, clubs, and people.
  10. I'd highly recommend seeking out a handful of clubs that play music you enjoy. Check them out, take your time, see how you like the environment. If your real interest is making L$ and good environments and company are secondary, only take a landmark if you cam around the club and find a contest board. It's best to do that after-hours, or prior to club events. Try 1-Pm slt, as most of the clubs I go to (American) start their events at 6pm slt and last all the way to midnight. Most contest boards are large rectangles with a title, a subtitle, and then a series of lines to hold names. There are also usually buttons titled Join and Support/Menu/Manage. Usually they are a subdued color like grey, or have a background that matches the club's decor, so they might be a bit hard to find quickly. When you have a folder of landmarks that have a contest board, list the hours of operation for different events in notecards. Even note what number the prizes tend to be, and whether it has a (S) behind the L$ Prize. That (S) means that the prize is split between everybody, with the percent a person gets being dependent on how many votes they have. Some clubs will have enough staff members present to make sure that every participant gets at least one vote. That's really sweet of them, but not a lot of clubs do it and you shouldn't demand or expect a club to host its contests or sploders in a no-lose fashion. If a competitive environment is too much, ONLY go to (S) contests, or just hang around for the music instead of the money. You might have to go freebie shopping on the marketplace or in-world to get outfits appropriate for themed contests. Common contests are Baggies, Fantasy, Formal, Bikers, Leather and Lace, Hard Femme, Underwear, Swim clothes, Lingerie, Pajamas, and Bondage. The kinds of contests will be dependent on the kind of club you go to and what the environment and staff enjoys. If you get a variety of different clubs that you enjoy and frequent, you may consider getting a job at some clubs (to get tip revenue if you don't get money from contests at that club) and just be a patron at clubs with contests that you win/get paid often. You can also, as others said, create content. You could even just host a dollarbie store through the Direct Delivery system that LL has recently released. It wouldn't be a huge flow of cash, but it would be good practice if you wanted to make a business later, and would give a bit of pocket cash each month. If you need any help finding split-pot contests, feel free to IM me in world. I could also build with you, should you take the content-creation path.
