  1. Thank you so much Aquila and Drongle for the ideas! I managed to get it down to 10 LI. I was on the right track, but wasn't sure how to use Decimate. Between playing with it, and reading more on the web, I think I understand it.
  2. Ooh, thank you so much. I will give this a go and report back if it works. Probably not tonight as allergies are a mess and I just took a pill.
  3. Hello all! My other half has asked me to do her sign in 3d. Which would be very easy if she had a simple font. But this fon has a lot of curves and embelishments, so I need to purne it down a bit. Make the UV flow a bit easier, and in general, get a simple 3D text from 47 prims down to something more manigable. So far, the only advice I have, was to type it in black, and use that as a reference in Blender to put individual vertices, so I can cleanly wrap it. So I am in the process of doing that, but am looking for feed back on if there is an easier way to remap vericies and trim geomatry while still mostly maintaining it's look. The font, if anyone has heard of it before, or wants to look it up is Carmencita. Beautiful font, but rough to work with in 3D. Thanks in advance for any help you can post. I am so new to mesh, that even I am trying to learn to do my own work and this one favor she asked. No time limit, luckily. :D
  4. Oh nice, Thank you so much!
  5. Hello all! I am fairly new to mesh, and I have been practicing in blender. I am trying to make Jewelry, but I was wondering, is there a way to import a SL avatar or something like it, so I can make things the correct size? I am still rather new to all this, but after tutorials, have really been geting better at modeling.
  6. Hey all, I got the mesh to look the way I wanted... but everytime I export it, and put it in world, the textures are not on it. Is there a texturing tutorial for mesh somewhere that could help me? I have unwrapped the UV.... and applied the image there, but, it still won't include the texture. Any help or suggestions would be welcome.
  7. Sorry for the late reply, just wanted to say thank you for the feedback, think I know what I am going to try now!
  8. Hey everyone, after just going through a lot of blender tutorials.... I think I am finally ready to take the first step into making mesh. However.... I have been trying and trying to get an hour glass, and it either comes out not smooth, or too many vertices, and have been trying to make it simpler by hand drawing the contour and spinning it. Is this the easiest methad for doing this? I need to have the inside glass showing, thinly. I guess what I am asking is, where should I even start to begin a project like this, as spiinning doesn't seem like the best way to go about this, nor does hand drawing the contour.... Any help would be appreciated!
