  1. Okay, you can't mix imperial measurements and metric measurements. It's useless to all involved to say a thing is 39.37 inches. It can't be. It can only be 39 and 3/8ths of an inch. I've noticed that only Americans do this. A measurement can be in either metrics or imperials, and can be converted from one to the other in either direction. It can't be both. I once tried to buy something from Amazon which was measured at 5.32 inches. Useless. If they had said it was 5 and 5/16ths of an inch I'd have known if it would fit into my project. Mixing measurements this way is obstructive to say the least. Keep it metric or keep it imperial but please don't mix the two styles in the one measurement. The decimal system is just that - based on units of 10. The imperial system, when talking about feet and inches, is based on 8ths and 16ths of an inch. Anyone who sews their own clothes knows that the seam allowance is always 5/8ths of an inch or 1.5cm but not a mix of both. It's never given as 0.6 of an inch or whatever the mangled up hybrid might be
  2. I found this only about two weeks ago and have been having a blast there. But can onyone tell me what I'm supposed to do with the pickaxe? Via inworld IM would be great, if anyone knows. I've hacked at everything I can think of but haven't had any response. I've been carrying it around for about 4 days now.
  3. Ceera, I've just tried this and it works very well, thank you. I found I had to make two 'platforms', one with the root prim in Sim A and one with root prim in Sim B, so they cross over, one going east-west and the other going west-east. I sank both into the floor inside each other and it works. It's solved a big problem for me too, so thank you.
  4. Believe it or not, changing your group tag can force your mesh to rez for others. If you're wearing a group tag, take it off and use another one for a couple of minutes. If you're not wearing a group tag, put one on for a few minutes. It was discovered by accident at a very busy club and it works. While your av might be fully rezzed on your screen it might not be for others but changing your group tag will work. Depending on local lag it can take a minute or two. Before mesh became the next big thing there was one regular at a club I go to whom I could never ever see at all. Not even her name tag showed up, but I could see her on radar. Nothing I did made her av appear for me and I wasn't alone - one of the DJs there couldn't see her either, and he also couldn't ever see one of the other DJs there. Then, suddenly one day she walked in and I could see her. I'm not sure if it was my recent viewer upgrade that changed things, or hers.
  5. Ohh, great inds and all that ;-) I just found those myself, and bought some, as mentioned in my last response, above. Cheers!
  6. Thanks for your response and good idea. However, since I last posted I've searched Martplace and found something which is going to be a pretty darn good solution. I've purchsed and will try them on tonight when I get online. Nude Pasties: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Nude-Pasties-Packaged/2000584
  7. Sometimes 'smexy' doesn't cut it, particularly if you're wearing moleskins, western hat, fringed cowboy boots and an Indian Warrior's breastplate (backless by definition), with turquoise and bone jewellery. I save 'smexy' (how I detest that stupid word - for stupidity it's right up ther with 'bish') for evening gowns and club dresses.
  8. Occasionally I like to wear the breastplate of an Indian Warrior. These are quilled and parts of areola show through. Surely you understand that a bra will look totally out of synch on a backless garment like a breastplate? Pasties ditto, esp if they're shaped like bad aids or, god forbid, love hearts or smilies. In this case layering is not the answer
  9. Does anyone know of a skin designer who makes female skins without nipples or areolae? Some clothing items, while relatively decent (lace, straps etc) show just too much flesh to be allowed in some clubs, or the lace motif (or strap) sits too high or low to cover the important part. I'd gladly pay extra for a skin pack that sacrificed a make-up variant for a variant with the nipples/areolae photoshopped out.
