You know darn well that I'm not dismissing Science. I'm simply pointing out that Science (including soft the sciences such as psychology) is dynamic. There are very few absolutes in psychology. It's a relatively new science with constantly evolving theories. Trying to make sense of human behavior is also not as simple as proving the Earth is round(ish) or that light has properties of both a wave and particles. Every addict I have ever known has been miserable, felt out of control, and fervently wished they could have their life back again. I don't even need Science to know addicts are not happy people. Why you are trying to change these facts because you don't totally trust soft Science is beyond the pale. This is the last I'm speaking about addiction, griefers, and stalkers. If you really want to talk about addicts and other self-destructive people in SL so much it would be nice if you started your own thread. This thread was supposed to be about positive attributes of SL we engage in and want to share with others, and noting how we're better for it.

..pointing out that understanding the poem is enhanced / guided certain ways, if the poem is correctly quoted! (Referencing the fact, that it was posted earlier the last line / bits of the poem were changed in the quoted version.) That darn "faith" stuff just works different for everyone, in my experience. How it relates to Second Life, I suppose, is a "very personal" thing (just like "faith" is). I would put it that people "confound" the two - I have a better word but cannot think of it. (I had to lookup "elide", which according to Oxford Google means "merge".) ETA: "Conflate"! Yet, as a professional in English (I assume English Literature, although I do not know your specialty), you are well within your rights to state a "correct" interpretation; while yes, most people agree that poetry is a form of literature that is MOST "open to interpretation" (humbly). Hmm Hmm Hmm. It depends on the practitioner, the practice, etc. The "path". But you and I seem to agree even if we are saying different things. (Many people read words but do not understand their "original", "true" or "intended" meanings, just as with Poetry.)

People have such different experiences or... I guess reactions to things. I present in sl in a way that I absolutely expect to get IM's from men, but they have gone down over the years.. I was talking to a woman that ran a club that noticed this also... and see this echoed in the thread from some. That constant stuff just doesn't happen as much anymore. In the last year or so I get more aggression from women or those presenting as women. They seem to be more bold and pushy when hitting on me. Also if you act nice in return with a firm no.. it seems to be a challenge to them. Yucko. Those ones I have to just ignore and go on with my day. Men are easy.. they are trying cause they have too. They by and large have to be the ones to approach if they want to get anywhere. It's expected of them. Friendships, romantic partners, whatever. So when they send me a compliment or even just a hello type of opener I'm nice back. I give them the "no" and because it's fun for me to do, I do it in a flirty in character way. More often than not there is a well darn I tried kinda answer on their end. It leads me to believe that they get a lot of nastiness back from a simple approach and return the energy they just received. Just saying. Now and then I get a crude one and those are just funny as heck to me. I rub my hands together in glee when that happens. "Nice (whatevers)!" "Yes! they really are right! My boyfriend loves them!", I reply. Usually it shuts them down quick with very, very few exceptions. I really think they expect me to bark at them. I can't remember the last time anyone got mean with me in world. It's weird. This thread was entertaining! OP if it bothers you and using those tools that sl provides makes you feel better in sl... Use them!

I have this old script and the original creator is no longer around. I just cant figure out how to create an anchor point for this noose to tather on or hook on too for my old-school penal colony sim. Can some help create an anchor script for me??? I would much appreciated I have zero knowladge on scripting, just got into it a few days ago, picked up a few things here and there so im hoping to learn more from this as well. If we weren't so darn aggressive, as ALL men are (it's a FACT), then we wouldn't argue so much about all these proven, factual psychological facts.

They can, they make a complaint about the specific review being "hateful," or other and wrongful and then poof goes that one review and the 5 stars one remain; of course. If I wrote that this item has all of these issues and then mentioned nothing hateful or mean towards the creator, being objective and asserting what I've seen and experienced with the item, that shouldn't mean LL suddenly goes to delete it, these bad sellers are abusing a system that is in their favor, simple as, I can see your point but again, this happens and my reviews as with other peoples, aren't so darn mean that LL would personally without being asked by a creator through a complaint have them gone within hours.

Off course there is A P in Second Life and a lot of other questionable things.... But I think it most are in peoples head it accelerates and be done to a mega problem. And a big topic for talking. My problem is when actully see what I am sure are AP and report it. LL dont see to do anything. It have been nice whit a transparent Report system where you actully could see what there was been done or attempt dome whit your abuse report. These will also help agains falsely give Abuse reports just for harez some one. I see some go after Zindra, close it. I darn hope not!!.. I have my home there its a quiert private water lot, whit very fhew people around. If I want to´see s.ex or nudity des like its better go to Blake Sea, there is a lot more of it then I ever see at my home on Zindra... And also a huge tier loss for LL if they close Zindra, Even that some one have cornered the market there sadly, a case LL also dont care about. A SL out Adult will be so boooooooooooring that 78% or more will leave emidely and the sale of items will drop very drastic. (My best sale item is still an old a** hook :D.. ) Again I repeat, sadly, I bet we knewer get any answers about the article whit accusing. There will come a bla. bla. statement and thats it. The fact the so-called "journalism" was not picked up by "other media" in such a way that "we all saw it someplace else too" (whether you call it "mainstream" or not), says something about the ability of "other media" to use restraint. I think the BS source also explains a little why the response took so long. If every company responded right away to every instance of screwball "reporting", it would look pretty darn weak and encourage false "reporting" that could damage reputations. The fact that a "source" (if you can call it that) "name names" does not magically grant it any veracity.

That's great to hear Animats thanks! I wasn't too worried about running the Window's Second Life viewer on Linux, either Wine or Valve's Steam Proton should be able to run it just fine. I was mostly curious if anything had changed over the years. Tell me about it, if the Window's viewer was availiable on Valve's Steam Launcher it would make this much simpler for a Linux user. In fact I came here feeling disappointed that SL's Windows viewer wasn't availiable on Steam. I was so sure it was though. Lol Darn.

Except if I bought it in a real life shop, I own it and I'm able to whatever I please with it. I entertained the idea of giving my bike a paint job to a matte black as I prefer that over shiny silver while I give it a tune-up (breaks ect.). It'd be pretty darn weird if Gazelle would basically tell me; "That bike you bought? Yeah, no touchy beyond how it is. You're not allowed to customize it.'. I often hear the argument; "I don't wanna deal with people breaking it." - which in fairness, true. Just throw in a disclaimer, it's not that hard. I'll take it a step further: No mod is more likely to encourage more copybotting.
