Fae Sapphire
I'm not new to SL but i havn't been on a lot untill a year when I got a gaming PC. My question is, what does mesh mean? I see it a lot when discribing products like avatars, Mermaid tails, hair, etc. What's the difference?
Rhonda Huntress
Mesh is short for wire frame mesh. It is a collection of triangle all stitched together. This is how most 3D games are put together. Second Life used prims initially in order to make building easier for the standard user but with new and free tools available, most people can make 3D objects that can then be imported into SL. So that mermaid tail that once took 100 prims to make can be imported as a single mesh object covered seamlessly by a single texture.
