How much experience do you already have with Blender?  If you're using Marvelous Designer with the sole purpose of making clothing items for Second Life then it's probably not worth the money for the subscription.  MD is a good platform for concepting but not so ideal for production when used in conjunction with blender because of the difficulty retopologizing.  Some other programs have ways around this but I haven't found any for Blender.  It's easier just to use the internal cloth simulation.
