viewer 3 won't play music in my linden home

my computer  won't run other viewers. But my SL CD won't play in my Linden home using the latest version of the SL viewer.  It did when I was able to use firestorm. It works fine at live music venues and clubs with streaming music, but I still hear no music in my Linden Home

Firefox? I assume you mean Firestorm.  Anyway, check to be sure that you have check the proper permissions in Preferences >>> Sound & Media to enable streaming music and media.  Then double check to be sure that you have made an exception for SLPlugin.exe in your firewall and anti-virus programs. If you have several viewers installed, you have to allow to SLPlugin for each one access through your firewall, because you will have a separate instance of SLPlugin.exe in each viewer's folder on your computer.
