flashing background

I'm having areas in various sims flash between there and not there.

I noticed it a while ago and saw someone else post here with the same problem. They were told it's a sinple adjustment. I followed suit and the flashing stopped.

My question: I can't find the original post here to make the adjustment again. Anyone know where in prefs I uncheck to stop the flashing?

Try changing your draw distance in Preferences->Graphics.

When you ask a tech question include infomation about which viewer you are using and your computer specs. Use the Viewer's HELP->About... to easily collect all the important information.

The viewer uses a Interest List to decide what to render. As things leave your field of view the viewer drops them from the list and stops rendering them. It takes a bit of time to add them and start rendering them when they re-enter your field of view. If the viewer is having a hard time deciding if something should be in the list, it can flash in and out.

If you can stand still staring at an item and it still renders and disappears, something else is wrong.We would need more details to figure out what.
