This usually means you got banned from SL. Check the e-mail assoicated with your account, if you were banned you should have gotten one.

If you feel the ban was unjustified you can file an appeal via the support system.

You cannot log into Second Life from this location

This error message may also appear as:

  • Login failed.
  • Second Life cannot be accessed from this computer.

These messages generally indicate you have been blocked from the Second Life servers by Linden Lab as the result of:

  • Documented cases of fraud
  • Use of Second Life by a minor
  • Exceptionally flagrant abuse activity

Note that these actions may have occurred by someone else in your household, but not necessariliy with your account.

If you believe that this is an error, submit a support ticket via the support portal. To help customer support determine what block has been placed and why, include in the ticket your Second Life account name, and any Second Life accounts that log in from your location.

Three possible reasons.

One is that you -- or the person from whom you've just bought the computer on eBay -- have been banned from SL, but you should know about that, at least if it was you.

The other two are that someone with an address in the same IP block as you has been banned, or that SL mistakenly thinks your machine has been banned -- that happens sometimes for technical reasons someone once explained to me, and normally rights itself after a few hours,  I think, though I can't remember exactly what causes that issue.

In any event, you need to follow the proceedures outlined here for opening a support case, and then take it from there.

It sounds like the IP address you are currently using has been blocked from second life, this could be because of your activity or as most residential IP addressess are allocated dynamicallly because another user on the same ISP as you has triggered an IP ban while using the same address.

You should check the email account associated with your second life account to see if you have any emails from support about being blocked there will be one if it is you who triggered the ban, if not then it is probable that another user has caused that IP to be blocked it should resolve when your IP address changes which is often at each reconnection of your router to the internet though they can sometimes be assigned 'sticky' which means that you might need to disconnect your router for 30-60 minutes before your ISP assigns you a new address.

If you continue to have issues or require further help you should open a support case with LL directly answers support is by residents with no special access to check your account and provide specific assistance in a case like this.
