Question

I have tired downloading almost every other viewer and I've kept being told something about it failing to start because it's side by side configuration was incorrect. It does that for all of them except the official viewer and I very much dislike that viewer someone please tell me how to fix this?

you need to download something called an AppFix it used to be known as side by side fix there is one at http://downloads.phoenixviewer.com/windows/AppFix.exe once you've installed that you should be able to get all viewers to work you only get the side by side error if your system is missing MS C++ Runtime Libraries
you can also get other useful downloads including the AppFix at http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=downloads

Just a guess, but it sounds like the message is telling you that the two viewers don't work and play well together.  They are trying to share files that they have in common, but the settings for one viewer are messing up the other one.  If that's the case, then my solution would be to completely remove both viewers and then download and install only the one that you really want.  Be sure that you do a clean re-install, though, so that absolutely everything is removed before you start over.  Here are instructions written for Firestorm, easily modified in the tiny ways necessary to make them apply to any viewer >>>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=fs_clean_reinstall.

ETA:  Aha!  No.... Go with Clairschen's excellent suggestion first.  I had forgotten about that fix.  If that doesn't work, then try what I suggested.   :smileywink:
