I have the official release of Windows 8 (not the pre release) and get video card error

As an early adopting institution I have the official Windows 8 release (not the pre release) and now get a video card error when trying to run SL (others have reported with the pre release.  Has anyone found a work around or know when it will be resolved in the SL software?

I suspect it will be upgraded in the V3 viewer when Win 8 is generally available to the public.  Until then, you might be able to get around the proiblem by telling your viewer to ignore that step.  See the instructions at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Viewer_parameters for setting a command line parameter.  The one you're going to want to set is --noprobe .  That on disables hardware checking at startup.

i had to get the latest from Nividia myself to make SL go. SL on Win8 goes about as good as win7 when it does
