I can't download the Viewer 2-4-0 Beta, it gives a broken link

That's a very old page, and that viewer is no longer in use.  For the current release, and a link to current beta viewers, see here: https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/

Hi Indieskies,

As Lindal says, that link is ancient. The date on Esbee Linden's post is December of 2010! We're up to version 3.7.25 now.

For the latest release viewer, just look at the bottom of any SL webpage. There you'll either find "Download" in the "Second Life" column or a direct "Download Second Life" link. Those links will take you right to where Lindal pointed.
