my notifications tab closes after about 10 sec -how can I keep it open

my notifications tab closes after about 10 sec-how can I keep it open?

by that I mean its an icon with only the number of posts in it and then

when I clik it it shows a condensed version of each post. I think it

used to have a question mark then a plus sign then an x in the upper

rt corner but now its only a question mark and an x. so after I clik the icon

the tab comes up with the list but for only about 10 sec then it goes

back to an icon. so does it need that plus sign and or how do I revise it

so that when I clik the icon I get the condensed notes to stay "on"

It sounds like its docked to the chiclet.

Drag the notification well away from the notification chiclet to undock it. Then it will stay open.

If it's docked, it will close as soon as it loses focus.
