SL requires new version to be downloaded, it download, but stuck and won't install need help?

I have tried logging into SL and SL needs to update to download version 3.8.1.303130. Wont install.  It gets to the point of stalling  as it checks network connection but does not do anything beyond that.  Need Help in completing the install.

I suggest you uninstall the Second Life Viewer. Then download the current main default viewer, 3.8.0-302622. Install that and once it runs you can see if it will install  RC Big Bird Viewer version 3.8.1.303130. Allow it to do the automatic install. If it doesn't, you you really want the RC you can download the RC viewer and try manually installing it.

I have found that allowing a new version to install while logged in often fails. Avoid the allow update while logged in. Decline and let it install when you next log in.
