On Teuesday and Wednesday servers are restarted, effectively resetting them. So, if yours is a server side issue you see it change on one of thsoe days.

Your problem sounds like a connection issue. The Internet is in the process of changing from IPv4 to IPv6. Hardware is being changed out across the globe. So, something that worked 20 minutes ago may not work now. Check your connection in depth: Troubleshoot Your #SL Connection. If your connection passes all those tests, give us the details.

When you ask a tech question include information about your computer and viewer. Get the info from the viewer's Help-About... and paste that into your post with your question. To add your info to an existing question use OPTIONS->EDIT. It’s in the upper right of your post.

If just one character is messed up, that is unique. One of the older fixes for that type of problem is to log into the Preview Grid, ADITI or Second Life Beta. It depends which viewer you are using as to what name shows. In Preferences->Advanced you have the option to Show Grid Selection at Login. Enable that to get to the Preview Grid. You use the same ID/Password on both grids. DO NOT change your password. If you do, you need to wait 24 to 48 hours for things to update and work again on the Beta Grid, regardless of what the wiki says.

You may have to wait while your inventory duplicates into the preview grid. That may take hours. You can log out. Your login will trigger the transfer gtom grid to grid. If your inventory is not loading when you first login, like in you cannot see LOADING... at the top of inventory, logout and try again the next day. Hopefully that will clean things up for you.

If not... you may need to file a support ticket. Only mention how the problem behaves in the Linden Viewer. REMEMBER! First level support people do not understand the technnicalities of SL. As Oz had siad, if they do understand the technical issues, they get promoted out of first level support. That is true of any organzation, not just SL.
