Gesture sounds not working?

 I cant play any gesture sounds in one sim on SL. Everywhere else, they work. The animations work, just the sound won't. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

Edit: I'm the only one who cant play gesture/sounds. Sorry if that wasnt clear. :)

 

Edit 2: It's checked as group sound only, but I'm a member. Unjoined and rejoined and still no sound. Oh well. :P

Maybe land owner is inhibiting sounds in a parcel.

ETA Look at parcel sounds property screen in the above URL.

There is a selection of Everyone or Group. If Everyone is unchecked, only group members are allowed to make sounds in a parcel.

Check the parcel details where you can't make sounds, World->Parcel details->Sounds

If only group is allowed, you must join a group and have to make group tag active.

As has been said, gesture sounds can be turned off by parcel or sim owners. If this is an RP sim it is very likely they are turned off. Gestures are annoying and that is why most people disable the sounds on their sims.
