Double check with the recipients to be sure that they have looked in their Received Items folders.  Incoming items from Marketpace are sent to that folder but some new residents do not know to look there.  Check your own Marketplace order History to verify whether the items were actually delivered.

(NOTE: When you are sending a gift, it is wise to let the recipient know that it is coming.  Many SL residents -- like me -- will automatically reject an inventory offer unless we know that it is coming from a reliable source.  Also, if the recipient is not expecting a gift and is in BUSY -- Do Not Disturb -- mode when it arrives, the gift will be rejected automatically and permanently without any notice to you or her.  The same will happen if you send a gift to someone who has muted you.)

If you are satisfied that your gift was sent but not received, you should put all details about the purchase into a notecard along with a polite message asking the merchant to send it again.  Merchants are not required to resend items, but many will.  Do be patient.  Merchants are like most of us -- we have real lives and other responsibilities so may not necessarily respond as fast as a RL business might.

Just to add to Roligs excellent answer...

Be sure to check your Marketplace Order History to be sure you sent it to the correct user name (NOT display name) and that it was spelled exactly right.  If it wasn't spelled correctly or you used a display name, it would have gone to the resident stated on your order history not your intended recipient.

If this happened you are out of luck and probably have to re order the items, unless the person who got it is willing to send it back to you AND it had transfer permissions.  If they aren't willing, there is nothing you can do.  A merchant most likely wouldn't replace it either because someone did get it and it was sent to who you named when you placed the order.  They aren't responsible for correcting your mistakes, but you there is no harm in asking politely.
