I bought a couple of freebies from the Marketplace. But how can I wear it in-game?

I was buying some freebies in the Marketplace, but I can't find it in-game. Is this a problem or is there some kind of solution? I'm currently wearing a default costume. I'm new to SL so I might be asking many questions.

Items delivered from Marketplace will appear in your Received Items folder, way at the bottom of your Inventory. You can wear or rez them from there or, smarter, drag/drop them from Received Items to a different permanent folder in your inventory (like Clothing).  Good inventory management from the start will save you a lot of headaches later.

Now, if you have trouble wearing one of those new items, it may be because you are using a mesh avatar.  Items attach to your real avatar, which is inside the mesh one and made transparent by an alpha mask. If your mesh av is significantly larger than your real av, it's possible that the new attachment may be inside your body, where you can't see it. If so, you'll have to do some careful work with your camera and your editing tool to reposition it where you want it to be.  That will be a lot easier if you immobilize your av by standing on a pose stand.
