Still no proper libfontconfig fix in released 3.4.1.266581

To save others the aggravation, no, the fix listed in the release notes for the latest 3.4.1.266581 does not fix the crash-on-startup for libfontconfig problem on modern Ubuntu and related debian linux versions. It's apparently rather a fix for a different Linux startup crash in a beta. So, to get this thing to run, you'll still have to softlink the distributed libfontconfig version to libfontconfig.so.1 (with the familiar hideous results, but at least it runs).

Yeah, the Linux fix on those notes involved some memory alignment tweaks, no library changes.
