Constantine Ahren
Hi, all depends on the average lifetime of your battery. Not sure anyone has tested that out on a mac ?!?Keep in mind, laptops tend to throttle CPU (GPU) to save battery, all could go really sloooow then.Monti
DKTitan
I would like to clearly state that I do not have a Mac but, Based on most portable devices and computers I'd say that when processing Intense functions such as Second life or gaming the battery will drain quickly. You may be able to limit some of that drain by allowed the device to downclock itself thus needing less juice, but your experience will be degraded. I say plug it in when using Second life or anything intense.
Madelaine McMasters
I'd recommend running plugged in. SL is graphics intensive. You can extend battery life by setting your graphics to "Low", but even then you'll not get as much battery life as you would watching videos. I have a three year old MacBook Air that goes all day web surfing, but lasts less than two hours in SL.
