I set SL to snap to units of 0.125, yet it snaps to units of 0.250.
Unless, of course, I zoom in extremely close, which makes it next to impossible to do what I am doing (I am laying out roads and have to align them. The roads must move on the grid at intervals of 0.125. The roads can get pretty long in some areas which makes positioning them a pain).
And then, as I zoom out, it starts snapping to intervals of 0.500.
As I continue, it eventually starts snapping to intervals of 1.000.

This wasn't always a problem, and only started happening about three or four weeks ago. I am using the basic SL Viewer, as it is the only one that does not crash on my computer.

Does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

No one can help with this?

While I know you may consider this a "viewer problem,"  you might have better chance getting an answer in the Building Forum:  http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Building-and-Texturing-Forum/bd-p/buildingandtexturing

You could ask a Moderator to move this question there.  Use "report innapropriate content" in options to make your request.

ETA, I'm not really a builder but I thought as you zoom out it doesn't show as fine increments.  At about the 9:30 minute mark.  http://vimeo.com/4243622

Also,   http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Building-and-Texturing-Forum/Using-Snap-to-Grid-issue/td-p/2062567

"Divides the grid into smaller sub-units for greater precision. The number of sub-units depends on how closely your camera is zoomed in and goes up to 16 divisions between main Grid Units. Edited objects snap to these sub-unit lines the same way they do to a normal grid line."

It's not something I've used a lot myself so I really am not sure.  I haven't built any structures in a while.
