Evangeline Arcadia Posted September 20, 2012 Share Posted September 20, 2012 I've not had problems before with graphics cards and my PC and SL, but I recently had to get a new card. I was limited in choice because of the power supply of my computer, so I have a Nvidia Geforce GT 610. The driver worked well but didn't work with some other applications so I contacted Nvidia and they recommended an alternative driver, Geforec R304 (304.79). All my other apps are working fine now, but when I go into SL some objects are pink and the card makes a lot of noise. Not everything is pink, just some prims and my hair.I'm wondering what I can do - any suggestions anyone? are there any settings on my PC or my card or SL that I should tweak. iCade Posted September 20, 2012 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Unfortunately it's the driver causing this :3 Some people who have ATI graphics cards are having this problem with the most recent V3 upgrade. See http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-4945 . For a quick but temporary solution, go to Preferences >> Graphics and disable Basic Shaders. For a more permanent solution update the 12.1 Catalyst driver from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx?type=2.4.2&product=2.4.2.... or run the AMD driver autodetect tool to update: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nyll Bergbahn Posted September 20, 2012 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Nvidia drivers were also affected by a pink bug. 304.79 was one. Check what driver you're using, 304.48 was ok it seems according to one thread. I don't use Nvidia so not sure what current drivers are ok but maybe try either newer or roll back. After I had posted earlier and had a good look around my Nvidia controls and saw that it said there was an update available.So I figured I might as well try it (306.23). I installed it with a clean install and so far so good! No more pink prims and hair.
