This is only relevant to PC-based SL viewers that are used to view video content using the QuickTime player plugin.  Due to the discontinued status of QuickTime on the PC platform, Trend Micro is urging everyone to uninstall QuickTime from their systems due to security vulnerabilities that remain in the QuickTime product.

I would agree with them, since Apple has not yet indicated that they will patch the remaining known vulnerabilities.

I hope that Linden Labs will get the word out on this.
