As of October 18th, my viewer (CtrlAltStudio and multiple other viewers I've used, Firestorm and the default Second Life Viewer) has been having the issue where selecting Advanced Lighting Model has suddenly been treating all items as transparent. They have a bolded effect of "Show Hidden Selection". I have cleared my cache both in viewer and hard clear through files, as well as resinstalled all three viewers and have even reinstalled and downgraded my graphics drivers (AMD Radeon HD 6570).

No-one else I have asked seemed to have this problem and I cannot find anything on the forums that is not related to wireframes via Ctrl+Alt+R or alpha blending.

I am required to use Advanced Lighting Model for my work, however this particular selection causes my computer to lag which is hindering my process. Below is animated gif screenshot of what is going on. As you will see, the Transparency is set to 0%, Alpha Mode is none, Show Hidden Selected is disabled. Enabling and Disabling Advanced Lighting Model is the only way to take off the bolded wireframe highlight, but I am required to have it enabled.

I have exhausted all possible solutions I can think of and have asked numerous people for their solutions, all coming up empty. I feel it might very well be an incredibly simple solution, but it eludes me.

Another effect as well is that it suddenly makes parcel borders visible through prims as well:https://i.gyazo.com/80a3a3c6f9fe2a20e97d5484aaf60d1f.gif

This is also something that happens with sculpts and prims as well as mesh, everything is acting like is has "Show Hidden Selection" on it, which as you can see here: https://i.gyazo.com/acfd742a2d100424f96ec070eb19318d.png Is not the case.

Any help  would be fantastic about this point, as Customer Support refuses to assist me. Thank you for reading, I hope someone knows what I've done to my blasted viewer, everyone I've asked hasn't experienced this sort of thing.

Thank you kindly.

Yeah, it's a known bug  with certain AMD driver versions.  You are not alone  ;)

See https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-7947

Also see https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-8878 which describes some of the other effects of the same bug.

If you still have the same problem on the latest Catalyst driver (as far as I know, this bug isn't fixed on the latest drivers for affected AMD cards), then all you can do is either keep ALM disabled while editing mesh or roll back to an earlier Catalyst version then 14.9. Rolling back the driver will give you other problems on SL though, so I don't advise it.
