Please, see
for explanation

We are confused here what is actually going on.

Whirley quotes Oz in that JIRA:

"That server on the RC regions removed support for 3 UDP messages:

FetchInventory

FetchInventoryDescendants

PurgeInventoryDescendants

The first two are the reason for BUG-8917, and those are intentional; we said years ago that they would not be supported forever, and now is when we're removing them."

So is this fix to make HTTP Inventory still work or is it being depecrated?

The fix in this weeks RC's is to fix BUG-8877 only.

This will fix pre-AIS3 viewers (Firestorm, Singularity & some other TPVs)  being unable to purge trash on the RC regions.

BUG-8917 will not be fixed. Linden Lab have decided that disabling Http Inventory in the viewer will no longer be supported.

This really shouldn't affect anyone adversely apart from those using very very outdated V1 based viewers that do not support Http Inventory.

Thanks....and I had misread...it was UDP, not HTTP that was being dropped.

I need new reading glasses.
