Mesh Twisted when worn - Improper weights?

Hi everyone, 

I have a AV mesh i'm trying to upload. It looks like the weights are attached to the wrong areas of the model when i upload and tick off "Skin Weights" It's twisting the body in all sorts of weird ways. Has anyone seen this before? 

Also, I am using blender with the SL Skeleton and have painted the weights myself.

Rigging can be quite tricky. It does seem that the weights are "broken" (from your picture), but not everything is lost.

Try copying the weights from your base avi and then going from there. There's an Avastar addon for blender that helps a bit with rigging. Also many great tutorials on Youtube on this matter.
