Good morning all! Today is Hubble 25th birthday, and those images are just amazing! This shooting, called eXtreme deep field, or "extremely deep field" made by Hubble is simply the deepest photograph of the universe. Galaxies that can be seen are the most distant ever observed by humans. So far away that the light captured by the NASA telescope to make this picture, or rather this collection of over 2,000 images, was issued by these galaxies some 13.2 billion years ago.

Hugs you all and happy weekend! :)

Happy Saturday all! Fantastic Maddy!  The vastness of our universe never ceases to amaze me!  /me waves to Karen!  Hugs Val!!

Peace!

NASA scientists have extrapolated from data obtained by the Kepler telescope (and other sources) to estimate the number of planets in the Milky Way that are in the "habitable zone" at... 40 Billion. The Milky Way is just one of what's estimated to be more than 100 Billion galaxies in our Universe. There are theories positing an infinite number of universes.

"Vast" just doesn't do justice to the truth of astronomical numbers, does it?

Happy Saturday, you infinitesimal Kids!!!
