Type HIH into the map and you will see: (that's the letter "I" not "1")

It doesn't seem as big as a new continent, but it seems more ambitious than Linden Homes because it has large common areas, see the six sims put together in the middle.

They are categorized "Adult" and you can't teleport to this area, it's closed.

Linden Homes in "Adult"?

More competition for all that unsold land in Zindra.

H1H stand for hyena 1st homeport. It's a hyena continent dedicated to hyenas because every time I post something in SL, Linden Lab sees hyenas and has decided to build a shrine for hyenas. Each one of those boxes on the map is a hyena den.

Really though, is probably something similar to Linden homes, probably Linden homes for those who pay a bit extra for a house with even more prim usage availability. That or the moles dug to far underground and got lost, popped up there, and resumed building mainland far away from where it is supposed to be.

That looks like a prim build.  Are those still lawful in SL?
;)

And whatever is Ruth doing there?

Is Second Life in retrograde?

Yeah, but there's a whole sim full of those old Atoll shacks and vintage telehubs, all with a total Land Impact of 1.

And that's the new Ruth, the next big thing in Avatar Rendering Complexity, flaunting the ground-breaking "everybody can see me" feature.

I know, I know, wishful thinking  lol

Let's hope it never takes off. The grid would be overrun with sexbots. Prok's head would aspode.

At least setting up Corrade is a bar to entry for most of the dungeons and strip/escort places.

WARNING! Shameless self promotion coming up!

Those atoll houses are awfully high prim though, you could put them on "convex hull" if that won't affect entering through the door.

Or you could use my mesh remakes of them. ^_^

Whatever it is I am not at all impressed.  Those buildings are ugly! :smileysurprised:

Maybe it's temporary housing for basic accounts for a week or so maybe to encourage sign ups to stay. If so, the thinking must be "Let's build a slum so that premium homes look so much better and we'll sell more premium memberships".

That's laughable to me as I think Linden homes are the slums already, and I am not alone in this.  Most of my friends refer to them as the SLums now.  Maybe that is why so many new people don't stay. They sign on to see the free house offered to premium members before they buy a membership, see them and go screaming out the door.  I know the homes  aren't supposed to be luxury housing and encourage people to move on to bigger and better but they could be much more attractive than they are and still be on 512's, low prim and encourage people to move on.

Maybe people who live there will all have to be Ruth or the male equivalent if they choose basic and only use the other starter avatars if they sign up for premium when they first sign up. :smileywink:

Yes, for some reason Linden Lab has got the impression that people in SL like to live where things happen. They also seem to believe people prefer to live by the water. Can't imagine where they got idea from.

The A rating is for the roads. They're perfectly straight like the ones in Zindra, no twisting, unsafe B roads there!

Or maybe it's because they've got a naughty builder...

As for "Linden Homes", 1024s with double prim quotas are more like Bay City really, but yes.

If you want to learn more: Capture and interrogate a Mole. And never trust the word of somebody who can talk his way out of a locked cage.

Somebody needs an irony supplement, methinks...

Patch obviously pulled a bunch of things out of the library and trolled the thread. By the way, the female avatar isn't Ruth, it's Girl Next Door.

 :smileysurprised:

You mean the Mole uberboss is trolling a serious discussion about the Moles' next grand build? And besides, since when did bosses have sense of humor???

RFL should never have let him out of that cage! (smh)

Serious digression: I have to disagree with you there. Eric Linden is the Greatest Builder SL Has Ever Seen and the Atoll Huts are among his very best works. They may be outdated and any build is ugly when taken out of context as they are in Patch' joke picture. But take a look at Iris or Kremer or Barbarossa and see how well they still work today when placed in the right setting.

Oh, I'd be happy to have the telehubs come back! Good news!

Another serious digression: the Waterhead telehub never went away. It's just gone under cover - literally.

The one Patch used is the Clanis one though and... ummm, I think it's just as well that one was put out of its misery. Here's a photo Torley took of the original:

I never understood why. All the early content Lindens put some of their very best work into Heterocera and then they made the continent's main entrance point like this!

Since you mention telehubs, didn't SL Public Land Preserve have a telehub museum at Ross? What happened to it?

Since you first posted this, I see some SL bloggers have also commented on this, but as far as I know, you were the first to notice these sims.

My theories:

The Lindens are building another "Premium" subdivision, but with more options for landscaping.

The Lindens are going to abandon parts of the Mainland, and this is the reservation they've set up for the residents they've displaced.

I really feel like staying away from this thread now but before I leave:

Nope. Not more options for landscaping that is. These are 1024 m2 houses, not  just 1024 parcels, and in a very rigid layout. Contrary to what Sabaoth seemed to see, each petal is absolutely identical too.

As to who it's for, well, this isn't something that's going to interest any Mainlanders or Islanders or Lindens and that leaves us with just one group of potential inhabitants.

Oh, this is more interesting than I'd thought. I mean, however much I like Mole builds, I've not been a fan of Linden Homes, but if the new Projects are 1024 m2 or better, that certainly suggests that just maybe they've finally seen the wisdom of upping the Premium bonus tier -- and, whatever these new sims may be, that tier change would breathe new life in the Mainland like nothing since Jack overbuilt Gaeta by a continent and a half.
