Of course.  Invite anyone you like.

If you want a visitor to be able to rez objects in your home, you will need to create a group and set (not deed) your home to the group first.  (Open World >>> About Land to set your home to the new group.) Then invite your friend to join the group in the "Everyone" role -- NOT as a co-owner!
