attach event: not triggered for HUD?

I am seeing the "Attach event" handler triggered only when I detach a HUD, not when I attach one. Is there a trick to this?

Hi, does your script have any lengthy functions or loops that happen inside common events? The attach event can be missed if the script is already busy at rez time. on_rez can sometimes have that trouble too.

If you cannot restructure that script, you might need a less busy helper script to catch the attach and notify its friends with a link message.
