I've been making various appliers for various mesh bodies. Almost none of them let you script directly, I end up having to use either a proprietary applier, or the (wonderful) Omega applier. BUt to activate any of them, I need to "touch" a patch on a hud. (patch being a hud that has been glued to the rest of them)

Is there any way to "touch" an object from a script? I can think of so many entertaining things one could make.

Nope. Best you could do is drop a script inside and hope to pick up on a link message maybe but wait... Those things are no mod, this preventing any such ability to remove painful restrictions from the product.

If the HUD was modify, you could have a script in there performing an llDetectedTouchUV and determine if it was being touched in the right place but you'd still have to instigate the existing script to do its thing presumably.
